Torino 2006 Olympic Torch Relay with Samsung : Samsung Electronics, Presenting Partner of the Torino 2006 Olympic Torch Relay, announced today its lineup of world-class athletes to run as torchbearers, kicking off the 100-day countdown to the Olympic Torch Relay. Samsung athlete torchbearers were selected from various corners of the world with the objective of spreading the Olympic Spirit by carrying the Flame in Italy. “I am delighted to have world-famous athletes in my home country for the once-in-a-lifetime experience of running with the Olympic torch,” said Alberto Tomba, Italian skiing legend with three Olympic gold medals and Samsung global athlete ambassador for the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games.

Samsung LCD Technology Highlighted at IMID : Samsung Electronics announced that it will showcase its largest line-up of leading-edge information display technology ever exhibited in Asia – during the IMID (International Meeting on Information Display) 2005, an international information display conference and exhibition held in Seoul from July 19 to 23. Sang Wan Lee, president of Samsung Electronics’ LCD Business, stated, “IMID is truly a global stage for the latest in display technology and Samsung is proud to introduce our most advanced technologies at this event.” He adds, “Samsung’s line-up includes the world’s largest (82”) TFT LCD, a 40” OLED using an a-Si backplane, and new LED backlight and mobile display technologies.

Samsung sponsors Nobel Museum's Global Exhibition : Samsung Electronics and the Nobel Museum signed a sponsorship agreement today to officially endorse Samsung's sole sponsorship of the Nobel Museum's new worldwide traveling exhibition from 2007 to 2010. Under the terms of the agreement, Samsung will provide financial and in-kind support to the production and operation of the exhibition, and will equip the exhibition with the latest Samsung multimedia technologies. With a theme based on the life of the Nobel Prize founder, titled "Alfred Nobel and His Times," the international exhibition will start in 2007 and end in 2010, visiting one major world capital per year at a prestigious venue.
