Ricoh Caplio R3 review at PhotographyBLOG

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-12-19 19:00:00
Ricoh Caplio R3 review at PhotographyBLOG : DIWA member Mark Goldstein from PhotographyBLOG has reviewed the Ricoh Caplio R3 digital camera. The Ricoh R3 features a 5 Megapixel CCD image sensor and incorporates an amazing 7.1x optical wide zoom, the largest in the compact class (28–200mm in 35mm camera), and vibration correction function. The lens was created by adopting the newly developed Double Retracting Lens System, an advance on the highly successful Retracting Lens System, the original lens storage system engineered by Ricoh. Whenever it detects excessive camera motion, the vibration correction system, based on a newly developed CCD shift method, moves the CCD in the opposite direction to counterbalance camera shake.

Ricoh GR preview

Mark Peters : 2005-09-25 18:18:18
Ricoh GR digital preview : In all these years since we have been around we have seen quite a number of cameras, and to be honest, most of them are not that exciting at all. Some models are developed just to function as a follow-up without any new features or improvements at all, just a new colour and a new name. Today, we give you an exclusive preview of a digital camera that is developed from the heart and mind of a photographer, for a photographer... The Ricoh GR Digital is a camera that awakens old memories and reminds you of those days when film was the universal platform instead of a flash card. The sample we have used for our preview is not a final sample, although close to a full production model.

Ricoh Caplio GX8 review

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-07-08 18:15:00
Ricoh Caplio GX8 digital camera review : More than a year ago Ricoh introduced the Ricoh Caplio GX, a 5 Megapixel camera with a number of unique features. Now Ricoh introduces the Ricoh GX8 as its successor; an almost similar camera but with no less than 8 Megapixels. These 8.2 Megapixels make the Ricoh Caplio GX8 take the lead as far as number of pixels on digital compact cameras is concerned. Besides its high resolution, the camera has some additional interesting possibilities. The Ricoh Caplio GX8 is a digital compact camera with the shortest interval of release ever, and the camera is one of a few with the highest ISO setting. Besides that, the camera stands out because of its real wide angle and its remarkable continuous mode.

Ricoh Caplio R2 review

Mark Peters : 2005-05-31 23:00:00
Ricoh Caplio R2 review : Ricoh enhanced their series of Caplio digital cameras with the introduction of the new Ricoh Caplio R2 in March 2005. The new Caplio R2 looks a lot like its brother, the Caplio R1, but the new model can definitely compete with the competitors of the 5 Megapixel class. The Ricoh R2 is beautifully designed and the housing has a nice finishing touch. Something that immediately draws the attention is the enlargement of the monitor on the back of the camera. Compared to the Caplio R1's 1.8 inch monitor, the difference is vast; the 2.5 inch monitor on the Caplio R2 has a great size and an adjustable brightness. The buttons next to the large sized monitor have been re-arranged.
