Canon SELPHY CP600 printer introduction : Canon releases the tiny battery-powered compact Canon SELPHY CP600 printer. The new flagship to the Canon SELPHY range offers 69 second portable photo prints direct from any PictBridge compatible digital camera or digital video camera via USB connection. When connected to the latest Canon Digital IXUS cameras, print times decrease to just 63 seconds. The Canon CP600 printer also supports IrDA wireless printing from selected mobile camera phones as well as the full array of current PictBridge functions. The printer itself is the first ever to incorporate Canon's renowned DIGIC II image processing engine.

Kodak adds WiFi support to EasyShare printer dock

Helping people share their pictures from any room in their house, Kodak introduced WiFi support for its EasyShare printer dock plus snapshot printer. The Kodak WiFi card will be available this June. After inserting the WiFi (802.11b) card into the Printer Dock Plus, pictures from a docked EasyShare digital camera can be transferred wirelessly to a computer on the home network for immediate viewing, sharing and printing. In addition, the Printer Dock Plus can then act as a wireless picture printer for WiFi-enabled devices such as desktops, laptops, and even the new Kodak EasyShare-One digital camera. Konica Minolta Color Laser 2400 introduction : Konica Minolta USA introduced its color laser alternative to inkjet printers: the Konica Minolta magicolor 2400W and the magicolor 2430DL. The magicolor 2400-series makes color laser technology as affordable as inkjet printers. "SOHO users have typically thought of inkjet printers as the lowest cost option for color printing," stated Stephen Fletcher, president and COO of Konica Minolta Printing Solutions. "However, when such factors as ink consumption, print speed, output durability, and productivity are considered, users are realizing that inkjet printers are not as economical as they might seem, and are not really designed for today's high-demand office printing.
