Panasonic HD Camcorder HVX200 on the market : Panasonic Broadcast announced that its powerful Panasonic AG-HVX200, the world's first hand-held high definition solid-state memory camcorder, will begin delivering to resellers on December 29th. The Panasonic HVX200 HD Camcorder uniquely combines multiple high definition and standard definition formats, multiple recording modes and variable frames rates, and the vast benefits of P2 solid state memory recording in a rugged, compact design. Panasonic announced introductory pricing for the HVX200 including $5,995 suggested list price of the camcorder only, a $6,995 list price for the camcorder and two 4GB P2 cards, and a $9,995 list price for the camcorder and two 8GB P2 cards.

Panasonic DVCPRO AJ-PCS060 P2 store drive : Panasonic Broadcast has announced the availability of the Panasonic AJ-PCS060 P2 Store Drive, an ultra-rugged, portable hard disk unit with a P2 card slot that quickly transfers the content of P2 cards to an internal hard disk drive. “The Panasonic P2 Store drive allows news crews to shoot more stories more efficiently because it simplifies the ENG workflow,” said Joe Facchini, Director, Product Marketing, Panasonic Broadcast. “We have designed the P2 Store to be ultra rugged and ultra easy for field use. Simply plug in a P2 card, push the Start button and your DVCPRO content transfers at faster-than-real time.”. The Panasonic AJ-PCS060 is available at the suggested list price of $1,800.
