BrightCapture Technology - better night time shots

Jasper Huitink : 2005-09-29 00:20:00
BrightCapture Technology - better night time shots : Often, it’s not until the sun goes down that things really start to heat up. The fun at parties or the excitement of a concert is frequently cloaked in dim lighting, making it difficult to faithfully reproduce the mood on photos. Or at least that was the case. Now, to help capture all the excitement of the night, Olympus has introduced BrightCapture Technology. This innovation improves shooting in low-light situations. It simplifies the framing of subjects by providing a brighter view on the LCD and also improves the photo outcome. Several shooting modes are enhanced thanks to this new technology, to make best use of the ambient light and deliver astonishing night-time results.

Mark Peters : 2005-05-17 21:55:10
Olympus shares fell after news about eliminating jobs : Shares of Olympus Corp. fell 2.3 percent on Wednesday as investors doubted plant closures and job cuts would put its loss-making digital camera business back on track. Olympus unveiled plans on Tuesday to eliminate 4,000 jobs in its camera division and consolidate domestic production into one factory as part of a major overhaul aimed at saving 13 billion yen ($123.2 million) in costs in the business year to March. But investors were not impressed, pushing the firm's already slumping stock price down another 2.29 percent on Wednesday to 2,130 yen, near a 2005 low of 2,080 yen and underperforming the benchmark Nikkei average's 0.35 percent decline.
