Olympus C7070 Wide Zoom review

Mark Peters : 2005-06-08 00:20:00
Olympus C7070 Wide Zoom digital camera review : Olympus' leading digital compact cameras are the Olympus C5060 Wide Zoom and the C8080 Wide Zoom. Beginning of 2005 the Olympus Camedia C7070 Wide Zoom joined in, and this camera may be looked upon as the successor of the Olympus C5060. The cameras have their own special style with a nice zoom range, from a true wide-angle to a reasonable telephoto. If we compare it to a 35mm camera, the Olympus C-7070 Wide Zoom has an f/2.8 - f/4.8 27-110mm lens. It might not be an ultra zoom, but it still is an attractive range. Olympus is also aiming at the professional market with their solid build C7070 Wide Zoom digital camera.

Mark Peters : 2005-05-17 21:55:10
Olympus shares fell after news about eliminating jobs : Shares of Olympus Corp. fell 2.3 percent on Wednesday as investors doubted plant closures and job cuts would put its loss-making digital camera business back on track. Olympus unveiled plans on Tuesday to eliminate 4,000 jobs in its camera division and consolidate domestic production into one factory as part of a major overhaul aimed at saving 13 billion yen ($123.2 million) in costs in the business year to March. But investors were not impressed, pushing the firm's already slumping stock price down another 2.29 percent on Wednesday to 2,130 yen, near a 2005 low of 2,080 yen and underperforming the benchmark Nikkei average's 0.35 percent decline.
