Nikon sponsors Eddie Adams photography workshop : For 18 years, Barnstorm: The Eddie Adams Workshop has been shaping the future of photojournalism. Beginning. Both experienced photojournalists and newcomers to the profession will exchange ideas, techniques and philosophies with some of the nation's most seasoned professionals. These students will have the opportunity of a lifetime to attend this one-of-a-kind workshop with their tuition paid by Nikon. Nikon teams up for Wildlife photography day : Nikon has teamed up with the London Wetland Centre to offer a special wildlife photography day at the London Wetland Centre on Saturday 3 September 2005. Budding photographers will be able to learn how to digiscope, the art of taking photographs with a telescope and digital camera. As part of the day’s activities, wildlife photographer Chris Packham will be giving a talk about his work as well as leading two special wildlife walks around the reserve. Nikon specialists will be on hand to answer questions about the latest equipment and showcase the Coolpix range, the latest consumer digital SLR cameras and also the recently launched compact fieldscope ED 50.

Nikon quarterly operating profit quadrupled

Nikon profit quadrupled : Yahoo reported that Japan's Nikon Corp. said on Monday that its quarterly operating profit has more than quadrupled, helped by strong sales of high-end digital cameras, and it raised its forecast for the full year. Nikon, the world's second-largest maker of digital single lens reflex (SLR) cameras, said group operating profit totaled 13.94 billion yen ($124 million) in the April-June first quarter, up from a profit of 3.13 billion yen in the year-ago period. Earnings at Nikon have been boosted by robust demand for digital SLR cameras and the interchangeable lenses used with them, as well as improved profitability in its stepper and instruments divisions.

Jim Lee's "Eye for Images" exhibition sponsored by Nikon : Nikon UK is delighted to be sponsoring Jim Lee’s photography exhibition Eye for Images. The “Eye for Images” exhibition is a retrospective of Lee’s work as a fashion photographer from 1968 to 1978 in both London and New York. Lee began his photography career in 1963, based in London. Jim ran with a cool inheritance and enjoyed life in the late sixties and early seventies when the budgets, scale and sheer professionalism of British imageland expanded hugely. Jim’s timing couldn’t have been better; he worked as a fashion photographer from 1968 to 1978, and then moved into directing big-budget commercials at the start of the Golden Age of British television.
