Samsung SCH-V600 camera phone introduction : Samsung Electronics, a leading company in mobile phones, announced today that it has launched an upgraded version of its horizontal LCD phone, a new form-factor introduced by the company last year. The Samsung SCH-V600 camera phone boasts a more compact design and improved features while maintaining the basic product concept of its popular predecessor, the Samsung SCH-V500. The Samsung V500 camera phone took the market by storm with its first-ever innovative pivotal LCD screen which allows users to view images and video files horizontally. The product won the Presidential Award at the Good Design Competition held by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion in October 2004.

Samsung Mobile Trends and new Technologies : Samsung Electronics, today delivered an optimistic outlook on the market migration to mobile technology before 700 IT technology enablers at the second annual Samsung Mobile Solution Forum in the Westin Taipei Hotel in downtown Taipei. Samsung, which plans to steadily increase its business and investments in the mobile marketplace, said it foresees dynamic growth in corporate and consumer mobile usage over the next decade. The company predicted that, as the movement toward "mobile convergence" accelerates, key functions will merge - resulting in more user-optimized mobile applications and calling for more innovative advances in semiconductor technology.

HP Launches interactive online gallery called Mobile Moments : HP today announced it will be unveiling Mobile Moments, an online celebrity mobile phone photography exhibition in aid of Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres and HP digital villages. HP has asked leading photographers, artists and entertainment personalities to contribute their first mega-pixel mobile phone photograph to the exhibition. Each participant was asked to capture their own 'mobile moment' - a spontaneous image caught in the moment. The result is a thoughtful, imaginative and sometimes funny look at what makes celebrities tick. The images will be auctioned on eBay.com to raise funds for the chosen charities. Auction dates will be posted on the Mobile Moments website.

Samsung SCH-V770 seven megapixel digital camera phone : Samsung Electronics unveils the world’s first mobile phone equipped with a 7 megapixel digital camera at CeBIT 2005. Just six months after the introduction of its world’s first 5 MP camera phone, Samsung has reached another milestone in camera phones. The samsung V770 offers the same level of picture-taking sophistication that a 7 megapixel digital camera does. The camera functions have been upgraded to include a 3x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom with a 1/1.8" CCD. It also supports auto focus and a flash unit that performs optimally for 7 megapixel photographs. The V770 is designed to enable attachable wide-angle and tele-conversion lenses, the first ever on a camera phone.

The Nokia 6230i camera phone, which adds a Megapixel camera and push to talk functionality to the highly popular Nokia 6230. The Nokia 6230i is expected to start shipping in the second quarter of 2005. The high-resolution screen (208 x 208 pixels) of the Nokia 6230i is an ideal backdrop for rich multimedia content. It displays colourful pictures taken by the built-in 1.3 Megapixel camera with a 3 x digital zoom. The demonstration of the PTA solution proto-type took place at the company's Telecommunications R&D Center in Suwon, Korea. This total mobile communications solution incorporates the existing PTT (Push-to-Talk) one to multi-user voice technology with the one to multi-user video conferencing ability of PTV (Push-to-View) and multimedia file sharing function of PTD (Push-to Data).
