Lexar responds to lawsuit by Fujifilm

Lexar responds to lawsuit by Fujifilm : Lexar Media, a leading manufacturer and marketer of high-performance digital media and accessories, today responded to litigation initiated by Fuji Photo Film Co., and Fuji Photo Film USA, Fuji filed a lawsuit against Lexar, alleging that certain of Lexar's flash cards infringe Fuji's U.S. Patent No.'s 5,303,198; 5,386,539; and 5,390,148. Fuji seeks damages and injunctive relief in this litigation, which was filed in United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on September 2005. "We believe that litigation is a tactical move in response to the ongoing patent infringement case that Lexar brought against Fuji over three years ago, in July 2002.


Lexar and Memorex settled patent infringement

Lexar and Memorex settled patent infringement : Lexar Media today announced that it has settled its patent infringement case with Memorex (Memtek Products Inc.). The litigation involved only certain CompactFlash cards sold by Memorex prior to November 2004. In the settlement agreement, Memorex will make a one-time payment for past sales of these products to Lexar and will agree to an injunction which would prohibit it from selling CompactFlash products that infringe Lexar's patents in the future. The settlement agreement does not include a license for future sales. "We are glad that we were able to constructively resolve our dispute with Memorex," said Eric Whitaker, executive vice president and general counsel, Lexar.


Court re-scheduled Lexar vs Toshiba hearing

Court re-scheduled Lexar vs Toshiba hearing : Lexar Media, a leading marketer and manufacturer of high-performance digital media and accessories, today confirmed that the Court has re-scheduled the Lexar Media, Inc. v. Toshiba Corporation post-trial hearing for June 21, 2005 beginning at 1:30 PM PDT. If necessary, the hearing may continue to June 22. The Court has also scheduled a conference with counsel for June 14 to determine which matters will be addressed at the hearing. In post trial motions, Lexar has asked the Court for an injunction of Toshiba products that have specifically been found to incorporate Lexar's trade secrets, including Toshiba's large and small block NAND flash chips.
