New Lexar USB FlashCard approved by USB-IF : Lexar Media today announced that its breakthrough USB FlashCard, introduced in January 2005, is compliant with the Series "A" Plug Form Factor Guideline 1.0 recently approved by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF). The compliance of Lexar's USB FlashCard to this guideline is a significant milestone in the advancement of USB flash drives and promises to help expand the number of applications and markets. A mere 12 millimeters wide, 4.5 millimeters high and 31.75 millimeters long, the card is no wider than the diameter of a penny, and is volumetrically similar to an SD card. The rugged, sturdy metal housing is intended to make the USB FlashCard suitable for use in a range of environment.

Lexar Media announced a new USB flash drive product, the Windows Connect Now Key, allowing consumers to easily add any Microsoft Windows Connect Now compatible device to their wireless network. Lexar has designed the Windows Connect Now Key to offer an optimized USB flash drive solution that makes setting up a wireless network a snap when used in conjunction with the Microsoft Wireless Network Setup Wizard and Windows Connect Now capable devices. The Windows Connect Now Key is the second product from Lexar that utilizes the new USB Card form factor. The unique tiny design measures 12 millimeters in width, 4.5 millimeters in height and 31.75 millimeters in length and fits into any USB Type A socket.

Lexar Media announced two new additions to its expanding line of digital music players with the high performance LDP-800 and the economical LDP-200. Joining Lexar's popular digital music players, the LDP-400 and LDP-600, the new models are feature rich, support both MP3 and WMA music formats, sport smart, pocket-sized designs and are compatible with Microsoft Windows Media DRM for playback of downloaded songs from on-line music services. "The demand for flash-based digital music players continues to grow, with 23 million players estimated to have shipped worldwide in 2004", said Bobby Billman, vice president of marketing, Lexar. The LDP-200 is expected to be available in February 2005, the LDP-800 in March 2005.
