Lexar and Google team up to offer USB Flash Drives : Lexar Media a leader in advanced digital media technologies announced it is bringing Google applications directly to customers by including Picasa, Google Toolbar and Google Desktop Search applications on its line of popular USB flash drives. The offering is the first time consumers will be able to install Google applications from a USB flash drive directly to their desktop to edit photos, find files and search the web using popular Google applications. "While these popular applications have traditionally been available on the web directly from Google and other web affiliates, offering them on a Lexar JumpDrive provides a new channel to reach customers," said Steffen Hellmold.

Lexar Media award affirmed by final judgement : Lexar announced that the trial court has entered final judgment in Lexar Media, Inc. v. Toshiba Corporation et al. In entering the judgment, the Superior Court for the State of California affirmed the jury verdict delivered in March in the case against Toshiba Corporation and Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. in which the jury awarded Lexar over $465 million in damages based on Toshiba Corporation and Toshiba America Electronics Components' breach of fiduciary duty and theft of trade secrets from Lexar. Lexar was pleased that, after 6months of Toshiba's efforts to challenge the jury verdict, the Court has rejected those challenges and entered judgment confirming that verdict."

Lexar Media expands relation with Sony : Lexar Media announced that it has expanded its licensing relationship with Sony. Under the agreement, Lexar has granted to Sony a license to Lexar's patents for Sony products not covered by the companies' existing cross-license agreement. This agreement builds on the relationship when Lexar and Sony signed a fundamental patent cross-license agreement under which Lexar gained the right to manufacture and sell the Memory Stick products. "As one of the first companies ever to work with NAND flash memory, with a heritage dating back to 1994, Lexar has some of the earliest patents on flash system design and performance," said Eric Whitaker, executive vice president and general counsel, Lexar.
