Leica Digital M

Dennis Hissink : 2005-12-29 00:00:37
Leica Digital M : According to an issue of Leica Fotografie International (LFI) Leica is developing a new high quality Leica digital camera. By meaning developing a new Leica the official word from Stefan Daniel, Chief of Product Management at Leica Camera AG, Solms, is that Leica is "complimenting and expanding the Leica M and R systems with digital components…". Although Leica always claimed that it would be impossible to develop a Leica Md due to technical details of the Leica lenses and the CCD or CMOS image sensors we may expect an official introduction of the Leica Digital M at Photokina 2006. As to our information the Digital M camera will feature 10+ Megapixels with a multiplier factor of 1.33x.

Mark Peters : 2005-12-09 10:01:52
Leica Digital Adapter 2 : Leica Camera AG, Solms has introduced a new adapter for connecting high-performance Leica TELEVID scopes with digital cameras and camera phones, enabling both observation and digital photography at high magnification through a scope. The Leica Digital Adapter 2 is optimally prepared for use with the new Leica D-LUX 2. The D-LUX 2 digital camera features an integrated image stabilizer for added protection against blurred images in all photographic situations, and is therefore particularly suitable when working with the long focal lengths customary in digiscoping. Clearly readable even in daylight, the bright display of the Leica D-LUX 2 is ideal for frame selection and image composition when digiscoping.

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-07-08 10:50:00
Leica Elpro-D E69 for the Digilux 2 digital camera : Leica Camera AG Solms are launching a close-focus attachment as a new accessory for the digital camera Leica Digilux 2. The Leica Elpro-D E69 can be screwed straight into the filter thread of the Leica DC Vario-Summicron f/2.0-2.4/7-22.5 mm ASPH. zoom lens to extend the focusing limits of the optics. This gives the photographer added scope for picture composition in the close-focus range while enhancing the imaging quality yet again. The Leica Elpro-D E69 shortens the focusing range of the Leica Digilux 2 to 15 centimeters. For a focal length of 28mm, for example, an object field of 16x21 cm is obtained, for 50 mm a field of 10x13 and for 90 mm a field of 6x8 cm.

Leica APO Summicron-M f2.75mm ASPH lens

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-05-25 21:14:19
Leica APO Summicron-M f2.75mm ASPH lens : Leica Camera has added a compact medium telephoto to its range of lenses for Leica rangefinder cameras. The Leica APO Summicron-M f2.75mm ASPH is the first lens of this focal length class to feature a floating element: During focusing, the last lens element change their position in relation to the rest of the optical system. The Leica Summicron-M f2.75mm is thus able to offer superlative quality in the close-focus range down to 0.7 meters. To take full advantage of the floating element, a highly precise adjustment mechanism has been used, although finding the space for it in a compact M lens was no easy feat! The natural perspective of the 75mm focal length enables true-to-life rendering.
