Kopin and MicroOptical new mobile video service : France Telecom's wireless unit, Orange SA, will soon roll out a new mobile video service that will let cellular phone subscribers view TV, movies, photos and broadband Internet content with a big screen viewing effect using Kopin-enabled video eyewear from U.S.-based MicroOptical Corp. Kopin Corp., the largest U.S. manufacturer of microdisplays for mobile consumer electronics and military applications, has received an order for CyberDisplay 230K microdisplays from MicroOptical for this application. Orange SA will bundle a MicroOptical binocular video eyewear with Samsung's SGH-D600 cell phone as part of its new "Orange World" wireless multimedia service.

Kopin Vision 2005 event about mobile video : More than 200 people attended Kopin's Vision 2005 event on Monday to deepen their understanding of the emerging mobile video revolution. The ground-breaking event at Kopin's Westborough, Mass., facility demonstrated to customers, partners, media, investors and analysts an array of mobile devices containing Kopin's CyberDisplay line of microdisplays, including video eyewear, cameras and infrared military equipment. Attendees also obtained in-depth knowledge about the market forces that are driving the mobile video revolution, including advances in Kopin's microdisplay technology. Mobile video will ultimately supplant much of what we know now as stationary video.

Kopin will host the Vision 2005 event : Kopin Corp., manufacturer of microdisplays, today announced it will host "Vision 2005," an event to highlight revolutionary communication, gaming, entertainment, military, security and photography experiences being made possible by high-resolution mobile video. "When we formed Kopin with wafer engineering technologies developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, we did not realize how challenging it was to apply our disruptive technologies to generate products that people really need," said Dr. John C. C. Fan, president and CEO of Kopin. "I am proud that we now have products in such wide use today that are changing the way people see, hear and communicate."
