Kopin Binocular Display Module (BDM-230K) : Kopin, the largest U.S. manufacturer of microdisplays for mobile consumer electronics, today unveiled at the SID International Symposium the new Kopin Binocular Display Module (BDM-230K), a plug-and-play video subsystem that integrates all the necessary electronics and optics for mobile video eyewear applications into a lightweight, self-contained unit. Incorporating dual Kopin CyberDisplay 230K microdisplays, the BDM-230K enables manufacturers of video eyewear to reduce the lead time and initial investment of new product development. Near-to-eye personal displays are projected to be a $1 billion market by 2008, according to a 2004 report by McLaughlin Consulting Group and Insight Media.

Kopin CyberEVF 230K electronic viewfinder introduction : Kopin, the leading provider of microdisplays for mobile consumer electronics, announced Kopin CyberEVF 230K, the world's first complete electronic viewfinder (EVF) for digital cameras. Kopin has designed the CyberEVF 230K in collaboration with a tier-one digital camera OEM (original equipment manufacturer), with the goal of making it the standard EVF for the new generation of high-zoom, high-resolution (6+ Megapixel), extra-slim cameras. Kopin's new product incorporates in a single module all the EVF components an OEM requires: a full-color microdisplay with QVGA (320 x 240) resolution, ultra-thin backlight, optics, and housing with an easy-to-use focusing mechanism.
