Konica Minolta Photo Imaging division closure : Konica Minolta Photo Imaging Canada, Inc. will cease its operations in the Canadian market only. All other world-wide Konica Minolta subsidiary's and companies will remain operational. Distribution of Konica Minolta products including film, single use cameras, and inkjet paper will be conducted through Phototrader Inc. and there should be no disruption of these products at the retail level. Phototrader will also be responsible for service requirements of mini-labs. They can be reached at their head office via telephone, or via email. Konica Minolta & Sony jointly develop DSLR cameras : Konica Minolta Photo Imaging and Sony Corporation have reached an agreement to jointly develop digital Single Lens Reflex (SLR) cameras. Taking full advantages of their respective imaging technologies and key devices, the two companies will develop and commercialize new digital SLR cameras based on and compatible to Maxxum / Dynax lens mount system. Konica Minolta has superb autofocus auto-exposure technologies nourished through development of "Maxxum / Dynax series" from the age of film cameras, mechanical electronics technologies indispensable for SLR cameras, and 16 million units of lens shipped worldwide.

Konica Minolta UK announces internal restructure : Following a wide reaching internal review encompassing all operations, Konica Minolta Photo Imaging (UK) Limited announces managerial, structural and operational changes. Managing Director, Mr Akihiko Nezu returns to Japan to take a new role within Konica Minolta. Toshihiro Matsumoto will replace him; previously President of Konica Minolta Photo Imaging France. He will take over from Akihiko Nezu from May 2005. As part of a drive to improve logistics and cost effectiveness the warehousing sited within Milton Keynes of the legacy Minolta camera business will close. All camera distribution will be transferred to the Konica Minolta warehousing facility in Feltham, Middlesex.

Konica Minolta sponsors Honda team MotoGP JiR 2005 : Konica Minolta Holdings is pleased to announce that it will sponsor a new racing team “JiR” (Japan Italy Racing) participating in the world’s most prominent motorcycle road racing, the World Championship “MotoGP Class” this year. The new team will be named “Konica Minolta Honda team,” and the Japanese rider, Makoto Tamada, will race with this team.
