Kodak leads US: digital photography segments

Kodak leads in US in four consumer digital photography segments : Continuing to demonstrate strong results against its digital strategy, Eastman Kodak Company now has the market lead in four major United States consumer digital photography segments: digital cameras, snapshot photo printers, retail photo kiosks, and online picture sharing sites. Market research firm IDC, in its full-year 2004 digital still camera study issued today, reports that Kodak's digital camera shipments give the company an industry leading 21.9-percent U.S. market share - the first time that Kodak has held this top position. Kodak was also the fastest growing brand among market leaders, with a 66-percent year-over-year increase.

Kodak Proshots have been made by Kodak. Kodak introduced new versions of Kodak Proshots Studio Software Suite v6.3, Kodak Proshots Basics Software v2.0 and Kodak Proshots Online Services v7.0 that, via labs, will provide photographers with a broader range of templates for their print ordering process. Photographers will also have improved tools for previewing and selling their images to customers in-person or over the Internet. The Kodak Proshots System, a powerful set of image-management, design and ordering tools, serves professional wedding, social and portrait photographers whether they work with film or digital cameras.


Kodak employees and company help Tsunami survivors

Kodak employees worldwide have acted to provide support to survivors and recovery efforts in regions devastated by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Southeast Asia, making financial contributions to relief organizations. To reinforce their efforts, Eastman Kodak Company announced contributions of approximately $1.5 million in cash, services, and materials. Kodak digital imaging technologies will be employed in diagnostic services for injured survivors, and to help families attempt to locate missing loved ones from the December 26 disaster. Worldwide, Kodak's disaster relief support include a $1,000,000 corporate donation from Kodak to the American Red Cross' International Response Fund.


Kodak EasyShare-One camera already wins two Awards

Eastman Kodak Company's continued innovation in the digital imaging industry secured best-of-show honors at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show, where the company won the event's two highest-profile awards for digital imaging products. The first-of-its-kind Kodak EasyShare-One digital camera, created as much for sharing pictures as taking them, secured both the CNET Next Big Thing and the G4techTV Best of CES Awards. These are considered the ultimate honors at the world's largest consumer electronics exhibition, where more than 1,500 companies launch and display tens of thousands of cutting-edge products and services. The CNET Next Big Thing Award recognizes the most promising new products announced at the CES.


Kodak adds WiFi support to EasyShare printer dock

Helping people share their pictures from any room in their house, Kodak introduced WiFi support for its EasyShare printer dock plus snapshot printer. The Kodak WiFi card will be available this June. After inserting the WiFi (802.11b) card into the Printer Dock Plus, pictures from a docked EasyShare digital camera can be transferred wirelessly to a computer on the home network for immediate viewing, sharing and printing. In addition, the Printer Dock Plus can then act as a wireless picture printer for WiFi-enabled devices such as desktops, laptops, and even the new Kodak EasyShare-One digital camera. "With the EasyShare printer dock line, people can make a real Kodak print in as little as 60 seconds with the press of a button."


TI and Kodak deliver industry firsts for camera

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) announced its latest digital media processing technology is incorporated in the first-of-its-kind Kodak EasyShare One zoom digital camera. As the first camera to utilize Kodak’s newest Color Science image processor, based on TI’s semiconductor technology running Kodak’s algorithms, the EasyShare One camera features storage of up to 1,500 pictures, in-camera editing, WiFi e-mailing and sharing, and picture printing without using a computer. The camera also features television-quality video with audio at 30 frames-per-second. "TI's powerful digital media processor provides a programmable platform that allows Kodak to customize its products."

The device is the first of its kind, allowing people to e-mail pictures directly from the camera via Wi-Fi; to view online albums in the Kodak EasyShare Gallery (formerly Ofoto) on the camera; to store and organize up to 1,500 favourite pictures for instant display on its high-resolution, 3-inch touch screen LCD; and to take vibrant still pictures and full-motion video.
