IFA 2006

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-10-27 01:37:00
IFA 2006 international trade show : In future Berlin can look forward to the IFA and to hosting a world-class trade show every year. Encouraged by a dynamic surge in Europe's Consumer Electronic market, European sales of 100 billion euros, as well as great results at the IFA 2005, the event's organisers Gesellschaft fuer Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikationselektronik and Messe Berlin have decided to expand the IFA concept. Both the supervisory board and the directors of the GFU have decided to hold the IFA every year, a move which follows a recommendation by the directors of the Consumer Electronics Trade Association, part of the industry organisation ZVEI, as well as by leading exhibitors, a majority of whom favour an annual event.

Philips rollable display pocket e-Reader Readius

Mark Peters : 2005-09-02 20:20:51
Philips e-Reader Radius : Philips has something very interesting to show at their Philips booth. Located in hall 22, Philips offers the visitor a lot of new products from hard disk recorders to HDTV devices, Blue-Ray solutions to prototypes. Only one working device is currently present at the IFA show. Of course I needed to see this one with my own eyes so the search began. Somewhere in a corner one of Philips's demonstrating girls carried it hanging around her neck: Philips' rollable display device. Simply referred to as: "Amazing!" Ultra light and stylishly designed you can carry the rollable device with you wherever you wanna go. The device is very small and it unfolds a large display that is actually larger than the device area.

Hitachi 3K8 Microdrive 8 Gigabyte

Mark Peters : 2005-09-02 19:02:09
Hitachi 6 and 8 Gigabyte 3K8 Microdrive : While the ultimate fashion accessory of recent popular culture is flashy jewelry - known by its street name "bling" - Hitachi Global Storage Technologies is today saying high-capacity, miniature hard drives are the new "bling" for their ubiquity and desirability among the consumer digerati. Hitachi's latest "bling" are the industry's smallest one-inch and lightest 1.8-inch hard drive, introduced in concept earlier this year under the monikers Hitachi Mikey and Slim. Hitachi anticipates these two hard drives will play key roles in the emergence of high-capacity smart phones, digital cameras, camcorders, multi-function audio/video players and other electronic handheld consumer devices.

Kodak EasyShare 500 printer

Mark Peters : 2005-09-02 15:23:10
Kodak EasyShare 500 printer : At the Kodak booth we find a lot of consumers viewing Kodak latest digital imaging products. Young and old are attending the Kodak booth. It is interesting to see that suddenly two companies are offering wireless solutions for the consumer. Although Kodak introduced their EasyShare One digital camera during the last PMA show in Orlando, it is still not available on the market. It’s funny to see that Kodak is issuing a press release just after the Nikon Coolpix P1 & P2 launch. We expect the product from both companies to be available in October this year. Nikon is using wireless technique integrated in the Nikon P1 and P2 cameras, Kodak has integrated wireless in the flash card, a more expensive solution.

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-09-02 15:10:00

The announcement was made at IFA. Boasting high-quality stereo sound, the sleek-looking, one-piece system contains four full-range speakers and an amplifier with volume controls. It's ready to use as soon as you slide a Sansa MP3 audio player into the recessed docking station and insert the attached connector cable into the player. Any source content on the Sansa, including FM radio stations, can be played through the speakers.

Nikon press conference at IFA 2005

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-09-02 13:51:18
Nikon press conference at IFA 2005 : This morning Nikon is offering a press conference. Martina Beckman opens with an interesting speech. New innovations like wireless transmissions, and software user-friendly features for the consumer are key points in Nikon's strategy. Nikon needs to be creative in offering new services and solutions. New technologies and innovations are sometimes difficult to translate in an easy way to the consumer to enable him or her to use it. Nikon feels it is committed to being 'At the heart of the image'. One of Nikon's strong points is the use of glass materials but also light control technology, colour sciences and image processing technologies add to Nikon's strength.

IFA 2005 Berlin opening day!

Mark Peters : 2005-09-02 13:46:03
IFA 2005 Berlin opening day! : This morning, Sept. 1, 2005, the IFA 2005 event in Berlin, Germany started. At 09:00 the show floor opened for journalists and I went inside to see what's happening around the boots. Hall 1.2 is one of the main halls where brands like Nikon, Casio and Kodak are located. The first hours of this great event are starting off slowly. The early visitors are participants, resellers and journalists like myself. Some weeks before this IFA event kicked off, a lot of brands like Nikon, Canon and Olympus introduced quite a number of digital cameras. Just now I spotted the new Nikon products like the Nikon Coolpix P1, Coolpix P2 and Nikon Coolpix S4 behind glass.
