Fujifilm fDi partner concept awarded : The Fujifilm FDi Partner Concept introduced last Fall has been awarded the Marketing and Innovation Prize of the trade journal "Fotowirtschaft". Now in its sixteenth consecutive year, this prize for innovative products, forward-looking concepts and promising ideas for the imaging market is awarded annually, for ideas which help the industry to tap additional target groups for photography. First prize in the "Concepts" category went to Fujifilm's FDi Partner Concept, aimed at operators of minilabs in the Frontier series. It offers a solution for the imaging business in which photo dealers receive customized service packages depending on their order volume.

Fujifilm Q1 Digital 4.0 Ir. camera introduction : Fujifilm Japan unveils a new digital camera based on the APS design, Fujifilm Q1 Digital 4.0 Ir. The new 4 Megapixel Q1 Digital 4.0 Ir. camera features a 4 Megapixel CCD and offers infrared communication. The Fujifilm Digital 4.0 Ir. will be available in Japan on February 9th. The design of this digital camera is unique. The Fujifilm Q1 Digital 4.0 Ir. offers a high image quality based on the 4 million effective pixels of the image sensor. Due to the infrared features the Fujifilm Digital 4.0 Ir. is able to communicate with devices like the Fujifilm Mobile Printer MP-100. Without any cable attached the printer produces a high quality card sized print directly from the camera itself.

Fujifilm relies on quality, not quantity : Two very different trends dominate Fujifilm Europe GmbH's current economic scenario. While consumer products show a slight decline, the industrial sectors are producing healthy growth rates despite adversary market trends. "Although the German subsidiary of the world's largest photo-imaging conglomerate has been prepared for the lightning-speed changes in the imaging industry for years, the flooding of the market with digital cameras has had a substantial impact on the development of the German business," Helmut Rupsch, General Manager, reported in a press interview. He further explained that in the past year it has been particularly difficult to generate profits in the hardware sector.

At the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show, Fujifilm will showcase its prowess in this ever-expanding category, both in its show floor booth and in the conference rooms where today's most intriguing consumer electronics topics are debated and discussed. In 2004 Fuji Photo Film USA, Inc., and Sprint announced a service that changed the face of mobile imaging. Through their online album and linked through Fujifilm's "Get the Picture Online" print order service, Sprint Picture Mail customers can send their mobile images directly to a participating retail photofinisher of their choice.

Fujifilm US DVD and CD-R package introduction : Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. unveils a new optical media packaging system at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week. The new design is part of an overall Fujifilm marketing effort to simplify consumer choice. The new packaging system will appear in retail and consumer channels this spring.
