CMOS image sensors demonstrated by Cypress :Cypress Semiconductor Corp. announced that it will demonstrate its portfolio of CMOS image sensors including the LUPA-300 VGA image sensor, the new 9 Megapixel digital still camera (DSC) image sensor, ACM-100 automotive camera module and the 3 Megapixel camera phone image sensor at the 18th Annual International Trade Fair for Machine Vision and Identificaton Technologies (Vision 2005). Developed for machine vision and motion analysis applications, the LUPA-300 low-power VGA image sensor features a high frame rate of 250 frames-per-second, a triggered and pipelined synchronous shutter that delivers undistorted images, and X- and Y-windowing capability.

9 Megapixel APS CMOS sensor announced by Cypress : Cypress Semiconductor Corp. today announced commercial sampling of its new 9.0-megapixel CMOS image sensors for high-end digital still cameras (DSCs). The cost-effective new image sensors offer low dark current and low noise, on par with that of more expensive charge coupled devices (CCDs). These features deliver outstanding image quality, enabling camera makers to meet the increasing demand for high-performance, economically priced single-lens reflex (SLR) DSCs. The Cypress CYIHDSC9000AA (color) and the Cypress CYIHDSM9000AA (monochrome) are the first image sensors manufactured on Cypress's high-volume, low-cost 0.13-micron CMOS process optimized for image sensors.

Cypress CMOS mobile image sensor : Cypress Semiconductor today launched a suite of 1/4-inch optical format, 1.3-megapixel imaging solutions designed to directly replace existing 1/4-inch VGA image sensors and 1/4-inch VGA SoC image sensors in camera-enabled mobile phones. These low-cost imaging solutions enable mobile device manufacturers to upgrade their offerings with improved image quality at higher resolution while maintaining the same optical format and form factor, resulting in a less-expensive bill-of-materials and lower cost of ownership. The image sensor and SoC feature a pixel size of 2.8-micron x 2.8 and an image array of 1280 x 1024 active pixels. Both devices offer progressive scan and an electronic rolling shutter.
