Google president Larry Page at CES 2006 : The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced that Larry Page, co-founder and president of products of Google, will deliver a keynote address at the 2006 CES. Page's address is slated for Friday, January 6, 2006, at 4 p.m. in the Hilton Theater at the Las Vegas Hilton. The 2006 International CES, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow, runs January 5-8 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Larry Page co-founded Google as the CEO in 1998 and grew the company to more than 200 employees and profitability before moving into his role as president of products in April 2001. He continues to share responsibility for Google's day-to-day operations and serve on Google's Board of Directors.

CES 2005 record breaking attendance : With more than 22,000 international attendees and 40,000 senior level executives from 110 countries, the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) drew a record 145,868 industry professionals, January 6-9, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada, as reported by VERIS Consulting's independent audit released this week. The 2005 International CES was the largest in the show's 39-year history in terms of overall attendance, international attendance and exhibitor square footage. The record-breaking attendance for 2005 showed a nine percent increase from 2004, while attracting 51 percent of Fortune 500 companies. This year, 2,500 exhibitors participated utilizing 1.5 million square feet of exhibit space.


CES executives head to China for trade mission

CES executives head to China for trade mission : Executives from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) head to China this week to participate in a trade mission hosted by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). The primary goal of the mission is to increase Chinese attendance at CEA's flagship event, the International CES, and promote Las Vegas-based tradeshows on a global stage. The two-part trade mission begins today in Beijing and concludes in Shanghai on June 3. Executives are meeting with representatives from the U.S. State Department and U.S. Embassy based in China as well as officials from Chinese government agencies and trade organizations related to the consumer electronics industry.

CES 2006 expands to the Sands Expo : TechZones will take center stage as the International CES expands to the Sands Expo and Convention Center in 2006. The 2006 CES show, the world's largest annual consumer technology tradeshow, will run January 5-8, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Sands will serve as the new destination for Innovations Plus at the 2006 International CES. Innovations Plus is slated to house the prestigious Innovations Award honorees, the MP3 and Portable Power TechZones, the digital home recording showcase, Studio@Home, and international delegations from China, Singapore and Taiwan.
