Catalyst and TAOS Light Sensing Technology agreement : Varying the backlight as a function of ambient light conditions can extend battery life and improve LCD image quality. Catalyst Semiconductor and Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions (TAOS) announced today that they have signed a non-exclusive agreement to jointly promote each others' products in the systems solutions they offer to their global Solid-State Illumination (SSI) customers. "Catalyst will incorporate the impressive performance of the TAOS TSL2561 Light-to-Digital Converter into its future application notes, evaluation boards and reference designs," said Barry Wiley, Catalyst Vice President, Mixed Signal and Analog Marketing.
