Canon Powershot SD430 Wireless

Dennis Hissink : 2005-10-25 08:45:54
Canon Powershot SD430 Wireless : Canon introduces a new digital camera, Canon Powershot SD430 Wireless. A fresh design with the cutting edge digital camera technology with wireless support and the elegance of the PowerShot series was created by splitting the camera section and the antenna section. The Canon SD430 Wireless features a 2.0-inch LCD monitor on the rear. Easy operations were achieved by finger rest and appropriately spaced controls. When you want to save or print your images, the Powershot SD430 digital camera lets you transfer them to a personal computer or printer wirelessly, without the need for cables. The Canon SD430 Wireless is equipped with a 3x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 35–105 mm (35mm format).

Canon EOS 5D review

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-10-24 03:04:03
Canon EOS 5D SLR review : Since Kodak is no longer producing Pro SLRs, Canon is the only manufacturer with a digital reflex camera (D-SLR) featuring a full-sized image sensor. Until shortly the EOS-1Ds Mark II was the only camera containing such a sensor. A beautifully professional D-SLR camera but an enormous investment and possibly too big to handle for a large group of consumers. Moreover the demand for a compacter and lighter version seemed to grow and presently there was gab in between the EOS 20D and the professional Canon D-SLRs. Both gabs are now solved with the Canon EOS 5D. We have reviewed the Canon 5D, a true professional, quite compact D-SLR camera with impressive specifications.

Future of imaging technology Canon Expo 2005 Paris

Mark Peters : 2005-10-18 00:15:00
Future of imaging technology Canon Expo 2005 Paris : Canon Europe will demonstrate its cutting-edge consumer, business and industrial imaging technologies that are defining the present and shaping the future of imaging communication at a three-day exhibition to be held in Paris from October 5 to 7, 2005. During his keynote address given earlier today at the opening of the exhibition, Canon Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Fujio Mitarai, announced Canon’s plans to extend the company’s current leadership position beyond the camera and office solutions sectors by investing in new businesses and applications for its innovative core technologies in areas such as medical technology, commercial printing and displays.

Canon image sensors

Mark Peters : 2005-10-12 15:36:54
Canon image sensors : Electronic devices are designed using semiconductor process technology, device technology and mounting technology, then manufactured using semiconductor manufacturing technology. Canon has worked on the development of all these technologies for many years and is devoted to inhouse development and production to manufacture high-grade advanced devices. For example, the CMOS sensor incorporated in the EOS-1Ds Mark II D-SLR camera is a 35mm full-frame sized large sensor boasting 16.7 million effective pixels manufactured in-house. In addition to imaging sensors such as these CMOS sensors, Canon also develops and mass-produces a variety of electronic devices optimized for the characteristics of various products.

Canon 16.7 Megapixel CMOS sensor

Mark Peters : 2005-10-11 23:43:11
Canon 16.7 Megapixel CMOS sensor : Raising the operability of a digital SLR camera to the level of film-base SLR cameras required development of a large high-resolution CMOS image sensor. Digital cameras normally use smaller image sensors than the frame size of 35mm film. When an interchangeable lens is attached to a D-SLR with smaller image sensors, the effective angles of view and perspectives of the captured image differ from the focal length marked on the lens. For this reason, photographers were unable to utilize their experience using 35mm film SLR camera lenses with digital SLR cameras. In 2002 Canon developed a large, full-frame 36 mm x 24 mm CMOS image sensor, which is incorporated in the Canon EOS-1Ds.

Canon iSAPS technology

Mark Peters : 2005-10-11 23:28:22
Canon iSAPS technology : Canon has collected a huge volume of photographic data and made extensive statistical analyses of the frequency of taking photographs. Based on this data, we created Photographic Space, a graphical database of information about the correlation between surrounding brightness and distance between camera and subject according to the focal length and zoom lens position when pictures are taken. Canon developed a scene-recognition technology called "iSAPS" (intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space) Technology. Canon iSAPS Technology envisages the scene to be photographed and makes optimal adjustments of key functions, such as AF, AE and AWB, before the shutter is pressed.
