Canon S80 review

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-12-24 01:45:09
Canon S80 review : The PowerShot S-series of Canon include digital cameras with a remarkable design. The keyword is 'superior'. These are digital cameras for people who don't mind paying a little bit more for a solid housing and some quality but still want a digital compact camera. The Canon PowerShot S80 is the latest model and stands on the top. Indeed the Canon S80 is a stylish digital camera; it shows that you know what style is. The Canon PowerShot S80 is a universal versatile digital camera. The zoom ranges from 28 up to 100mm offering you a considerable wide angle. Although at the cost of the telephoto range, but personally I prefer a larger wide angle range.

Canon IXUS 750 review

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-11-22 00:40:00
Canon Digital IXUS 750 camera review : During a press-conference August of this year, Canon introduced a new line of digital cameras, among which the new Canon Digital IXUS 750 digital camera. This camera is the latest top model in the successful IXUS line of digital cameras. The Canon IXUS 750 succeeds the IXUS 700 and has an attractive stainless steel body. As far as looks are concerned, the Digital IXUS 750 does not differ much from its predecessor. It's safe to say that a digital camera from the IXUS line virtually always ensures a successful sale. The model has become a brand name in itself, an impressive achievement! We've used the Digital IXUS 750 in practise, our results can be found in the following Canon IXUS 750 review.

Canon EOS 5D review

Ilse Jurriën : 2005-10-24 03:04:03
Canon EOS 5D SLR review : Since Kodak is no longer producing Pro SLRs, Canon is the only manufacturer with a digital reflex camera (D-SLR) featuring a full-sized image sensor. Until shortly the EOS-1Ds Mark II was the only camera containing such a sensor. A beautifully professional D-SLR camera but an enormous investment and possibly too big to handle for a large group of consumers. Moreover the demand for a compacter and lighter version seemed to grow and presently there was gab in between the EOS 20D and the professional Canon D-SLRs. Both gabs are now solved with the Canon EOS 5D. We have reviewed the Canon 5D, a true professional, quite compact D-SLR camera with impressive specifications.

President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Fujio Mitarai, announced Canon’s plans to extend the company’s current leadership position beyond the camera and office solutions sectors by investing in new businesses and applications for its innovative core technologies in areas such as medical technology, commercial printing and displays.

Canon image sensors

Mark Peters : 2005-10-12 15:36:54
Canon image sensors : Electronic devices are designed using semiconductor process technology, device technology and mounting technology, then manufactured using semiconductor manufacturing technology. Canon has worked on the development of all these technologies for many years and is devoted to inhouse development and production to manufacture high-grade advanced devices. For example, the CMOS sensor incorporated in the EOS-1Ds Mark II D-SLR camera is a 35mm full-frame sized large sensor boasting 16.7 million effective pixels manufactured in-house. In addition to imaging sensors such as these CMOS sensors, Canon also develops and mass-produces a variety of electronic devices optimized for the characteristics of various products.

Canon 16.7 Megapixel CMOS sensor

Mark Peters : 2005-10-11 23:43:11
Canon 16.7 Megapixel CMOS sensor : Raising the operability of a digital SLR camera to the level of film-base SLR cameras required development of a large high-resolution CMOS image sensor. Digital cameras normally use smaller image sensors than the frame size of 35mm film. When an interchangeable lens is attached to a D-SLR with smaller image sensors, the effective angles of view and perspectives of the captured image differ from the focal length marked on the lens. For this reason, photographers were unable to utilize their experience using 35mm film SLR camera lenses with digital SLR cameras. In 2002 Canon developed a large, full-frame 36 mm x 24 mm CMOS image sensor, which is incorporated in the Canon EOS-1Ds.

Canon iSAPS technology

Mark Peters : 2005-10-11 23:28:22
Canon iSAPS technology : Canon has collected a huge volume of photographic data and made extensive statistical analyses of the frequency of taking photographs. Based on this data, we created Photographic Space, a graphical database of information about the correlation between surrounding brightness and distance between camera and subject according to the focal length and zoom lens position when pictures are taken. Canon developed a scene-recognition technology called "iSAPS" (intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space) Technology. Canon iSAPS Technology envisages the scene to be photographed and makes optimal adjustments of key functions, such as AF, AE and AWB, before the shutter is pressed.

Canon dSLR EOS website Picture Styles

Jasper Huitink : 2005-10-09 23:13:54
Canon dSLR EOS website Picture Styles : Canon have launched a new website dedicated to Picture Styles, which Canon suggests is “like selecting the best film for the subject or desired photographic expression”. As well as being able to shoot pictures with the Canon dSLR EOS 5D and Canon dSLR EOS-1D Mark II N cameras using a specific Picture style, you can also apply them to RAW files from older Canon DSLR cameras (right back to the D30) using the newly-released Digital Photo Professional v2.0 software. "Color creativity with digital cameras has undergone enormous development and evolution since the advent of EOS digital cameras. The results of that progress have now been incorporated into Picture Style.”

Canon CCD fault in still & video cameras

Jasper Huitink : 2005-10-09 13:55:00
Canon CCD fault in still & video cameras : A problem has been discovered in some of the CCDs (Charge Coupled Devices) used in Canon USA and Asia digital camera and digital video camera products that causes images to appear distorted or not to appear at all. We apologize for the considerable inconvenience this represents for our customers. Along with our respectful apology, we would like to advise our customers of the details of this issue and our policy for handling it, which are as follows. Among the Canon CCDs used in the affected products listed furter down the story, it has been confirmed that, especially under high-temperature/high-humidity environments, the internal wiring may come undone in some places.
