Fujifilm FinePix S9500 receives DIWA Gold Award : DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association), an organisation of collaborating websites within digital imaging, announces a DIWA Gold Award to the 9 Megapixel Fujifilm S9500 digital megazoom camera. Image quality is fundamentally depending on two vital elements in a digital camera, the image sensor and the lens. In both respects, Fujifilm is in full control. Their successful development of the Super CCD image sensors is a key factor in the S9500, with remarkable 9 Mp resolution and wide sensitivity range, between ISO 80 and ISO 1600. Lucidiom Kiosk software wins CES innovations award : Lucidiom Inc, creator of the original Automated Photo Machine (APM), won a 2006 International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award for its kiosk software, APM 3.0, which helps retailers and their customers make high-quality digital prints quickly and easily. The Innovations Design and Engineering Awards program recognizes the most innovative consumer electronics products in 30 categories. Lucidiom's APM 3.0 software was named an Innovations Honoree within the Retail Resource category. Lucidiom will be showcasing its APM 3.0 software within Flash Forward 3.0 at the 2006 International CES on Friday, January 6 in the year 2006 at the Sands.

MultiMediaCard Association adds Intel & Kingston : The MultiMediaCard Association (MMCA) today announced that Intel Corporation and Kingston Technology Company, Inc. have been selected by majority member votes to its Board of Directors for 2006. Intel Corporation and Kingston Technology Company will join 12 current MMCA (MultiMediaCard Association) board members representing a broad cross-section of host device, memory card, flash memory and controller chipset manufacturers, including: ASUS, ATP Electronics, Gemplus, Hewlett-Packard, Infineon Technologies Flash, ITRI, Lexar Media, Micron Technology, Nokia, Power Digital Card, Samsung Electronics and Silicon Motion.

Royal Photographic Society Award for Foveon sensor : The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain this year awarded the longest running and most prestigious award, the Progress Medal, to three directors of Foveon Inc. in recognition of their innovation, research and development of the highly regarded X3 direct image sensor. The medals were awarded to Dr. Carver Mead, Founder of Foveon, Mr. Richard Merrill, Foveon’s Technical Director and Mr. Richard Lyon, Foveon’s Chief Scientist. iVision Technology wins Awards at Electronic Fair : Kopin Corporation, the largest USA manufacturer of microdisplays for mobile consumer and military electronics, and Solomon Systech International, a global fabless semiconductor company specializing in display driver integrated circuits, took top honors last week for Kopin's Binocular Display Module product based on Digital iVision technology at the Electronic Asia and Electronics Fair in Hong Kong, the second largest consumer electronics show with more than 60,000 participants. Kopin and Solomon Systech won both the Grand Award and Gold Award for "Outstanding Innovation and Technology Products" from the show's sponsor, the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA).
