Lexar rocks CES with new Digital Music Players

Lexar Media announced two new additions to its expanding line of digital music players with the high performance LDP-800 and the economical LDP-200. Joining Lexar's popular digital music players, the LDP-400 and LDP-600, the new models are feature rich, support both MP3 and WMA music formats, sport smart, pocket-sized designs and are compatible with Microsoft Windows Media DRM for playback of downloaded songs from on-line music services. "The demand for flash-based digital music players continues to grow, with 23 million players estimated to have shipped worldwide in 2004", said Bobby Billman, vice president of marketing, Lexar. The LDP-200 is expected to be available in February 2005, the LDP-800 in March 2005.

Sony Photo Vault mini CD-R station available : Sony has just made available the new Sony Photo Vault mini CD-R Station, a portable, "PC-free" device for burning photos directly from digital still cameras to mini CD-R media. Weighing only eight ounces, Photo Vault Mini CD-R Station adds convenience and flexibility to digital photography storage. Users can burn images directly from their camera to 8 cm mini CD-R using a standard USB interface. The device also features a built-in photo album capability to display photos on a television using its standard AV input. "Photo Vault is a perfect travel companion for anyone who owns a digital camera," said Michael Lucas, director of marketing for consumer and convergent media products in Sony.

Eastman Kodak Company is making digital picture sharing more convenient, personal and portable by introducing its new EasyShare Picture Viewer, a pocket-sized "digital photo album" that fits in the palm of your hand. Whether showing off recent vacation pictures, priceless memories or snapshots from life's everyday moments, the Picture Viewer (US$149 MSRP; available beginning in May 2005) is designed for people who love to share favourite pictures on the go. The EasyShare Picture Viewer, approximately the size of a credit card, allows people to keep their favourite digital pictures by their side at all times, and then display one or all for family and friends.
