Our friends at Imaging Resource published one of their extensive reviews. This time the Sony Cyber-shot P100 got the honour to be reviewed. During the PMA show in Las Vegas Sony showed the media and visitors their new line-up of Cyber-shot digital cameras. This new camera is a follow-up of the DSC-P8 and P10 cameras. The Sony DSC-P100 features a full 5.0 Megapixel CCD and offers a 3x optical zoom (38-114mm on a 35mm camera). Mike and Jonas of the Canadian based website Digitalreview.ca have published a first look report of the Nikon CoolWalker MSV-01. This new storage device was first mentioned just before the PMA 2004 show kicked off. The CoolWalker has 30GB of storage capacity, translating to over 10.000 2MB (approximately 10,000 X 6 Megapixel images can be stored in JPEG FINE) image files. Images are transferred quickly via the CompactFlash I and II media slot to free up your camera media card to continue shooting in the field. Megapixel.net: Review Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z2

Dennis Hissink : 2004-04-30 10:46:27
Our friends at Megapixel.net produced an extensive review of the new Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z2 camera. This new model is the second in a series of easy-to-use SLR-type digital cameras and a step up from the DiMAGE Z1. The DiMAGE Z2 also boasts the Rapid AF (Auto focus) and is now offering world's first SVGA (800x600 pixels) movie recording option! The adoption of a GT lens and a higher resolution of 4 Megapixels make the DiMAGE Z2 even more interesting than before. Also, the DiMAGE Z2 employs Rapid AF, the only camera in its class , to ensure sharp images with minimum delay. The DiMAGE Z2's powerful optics and high-resolution, 4 Megapixel 1/2.5 interline primary-colour CCD require a powerful AF system.

Imaging Resource: Review Fujifilm FinePix S20 Pro

Dennis Hissink : 2004-04-29 09:52:51
Our friends at Imaging Resource produced an in-depth review of the new Fujifilm FinePix S20 Pro camera. Just before the PMA 2004 in Las Vegas kicked off Fujifilm announced the new FinePix model. This new camera is very similar to that of the well-known Fujifilm FinePix S7000 camera but the engineers from Fujifilm did find the time to improve some features and add some as well. The FinePix S20 Pro seems to be more oriented towards the professional photographer or the well-equipped amateur photographer. Features like a PC-sync link, IEEE1394 (FireWire) and a Super CCD SR sensor are making this new top FinePix model noticeable. If you are looking for a new digital camera with promising specs the FinePix S20 Pro is interesting.

DCViews: review of the Nikon D70 SLR

Mark Peters : 2004-04-23 18:00:00
In December 2003 Nikon told the world of their plans of introducing a new digital SLR; the Nikon D70. At that moment nothing else was known about the specifications and a lot of rumours started floating around. Later, on January 28 2004, Nikon made an official announcement of Nikon D70's specifications. We were all amazed and kind of thrilled. Today the Nikon D70 is available worldwide and DCViews produced their opinion about this new DSLR from Nikon. The new D70 is a digital SLR camera that is within reach of many photography lovers now because of the attractive price. There are lots of people photographing with Nikon equipment who would like to step over to digital photography but are stopped because of the high costs of a digital SLR.

This 8 million pixel digital camera, protected by a magnesium alloy body, features a 5x wide zoom lens, a specially designed Sunshine LCD and a short release time lag. This model further features an electronic viewfinder which keeps down the camera's overall size and brings a number of advantages to the photographer. The focal length extends from 7.1 to 35.6mm (35mm camera equivalents: 28mm to 140mm) for a range of subjects and styles, from landscapes and architecture to intimate close-ups.

PhotographyBlog: review Fujifilm FinePix S7000

Dennis Hissink : 2004-04-16 06:49:45
Our friend Mark Goldstein from the very active website PhotographyBlog has laid his hands on the FinePix S7000 camera. This high resolution model builds on the success of the FinePix S602 Zoom camera. It is equipped with all features of the S602 Zoom, including full manual control and 6x optical zoom, but adds the 4th generation Super CCD HR technology. With this sensor technology the FinePix S7000 produces an exceptional 6 million effective pixel (12 million recorded pixel) output. Even before Fujifilm's Super CCD signal processing technology takes control of the image, photographs taken with this camera will possess a class-leading 6 million pixels. After the Super CCD HR has processed the file, the image output is 12 million pixels.
