Steve's Digicams: review of HP Photosmart R707

Dennis Hissink : 2004-07-01 02:44:20
Introduced at the PMA 2004 event in Las Vegas and the first of the new series; the HP Photosmart R707 camera. Our good friend Steve from the US based website Steve's Digicams has published his review of this stylish designed HP camera. It features HP Real life technologies that include: HP Adaptive Lighting technology, which automatically adjusts high-contrast photos to bring faces out of shadows and details out of backgrounds, and a new image engine which provides higher image quality and feature flexibility. This image engine, based on Texas Instruments' digital media processing technology is the power behind HP Real Life technologies, translating what the photographer's eye sees into the image captured.

Canon, Epson, HP, and Lexmark, support new ISO

Dennis Hissink : 2004-06-29 03:30:41
Canon, Epson, HP, and Lexmark, announced their support of the new International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard, ISO/IEC 19752, for monochrome toner cartridge yield in monochrome laser printers. Canon, Epson, HP, and Lexmark are leading proponents of industry standards and believe a single, rigorous, worldwide ISO standard to measure monochrome toner cartridge yield will help customers more objectively and accurately evaluate printer and print cartridge yield. The new ISO standard for monochrome toner cartridge yield clearly defines the key attributes that affect yield and applies robust statistical analysis so all manufacturers can utilize the same methodology when measuring yield.

Fujifilm UK launches LablinkPro Print Service

Dennis Hissink : 2004-06-25 00:15:13
Previewed at this year's Focus 2004, Fuji Photo Film (UK) Ltd has officially launched LablinkPro, its eagerly awaited advanced internet print service. Unlike existing internet print services that focus on general consumer retail business, LablinkPro has been specifically designed for pro-labs and professional photographers, linking the two together. For pro-labs this approach represents the perfect way to tap into the growing professional internet print market, increasing processing levels and making Frontier minilab equipment work harder. Similarly for the LablinkPro photographer the system is designed to reduce processing time and streamline business practices, allowing them to obtain the best possible print quality and speed of service.

Our friend, and DIWA colleague, Steve Sanders has published a review of the stylish designed Konica Minolta DiMAGE G600 camera. This newly developed 6-megapixel model features Rapid Response, an ergonomic and sleek design, and is packed with features that appeal to the range of beginners to advanced amateurs. The GT HEXANON Lens delivers high quality photographs and produces stunningly accurate images. These images are then received by the 6.37-megapixel CCD, which provides high-resolution and clarity previously unavailable from such a compact camera. Without any waiting time, the newly developed Signal Processing Engine enables a speedy 1.3-second start-up that has the camera ready in a mere instant.

PhotographyBlog: review of Fujifilm FinePix S5000

Dennis Hissink : 2004-06-21 00:01:00
Our English friend Mark Goldstein from the website PhotographyBlog has reviewed the Fujifilm FinePix S5000 digital camera. This high specification, compact and affordable digital camera with an awesome 10x optical zoom Fujinon lens has satisfied a lot of ambitious photography enthusiasts enabling them to capture close-up, and distant subjects. Unlike the multitude of silver, bodied compacts on the market, the designers of this camera did not focus their thoughts on the interior of a handbag or shirt pocket when they conceived the FinePix S5000. In addition to the large zoom lens, the FinePix S5000 also features Fujifilm's Super CCD HR technology. The FinePix S5000 looks like an SLR, but weighs the same as a compact camera.
