Dennis Hissink : 2004-11-03 01:00:50
Sony Electronics enhanced its line of digital photofinishing products with the introduction of the UP-DR150 digital photo printer, a dye sublimation printer that is now the fastest in its class of professional photo printers. Designed to deliver quality prints and rapid turnaround in retail, studio, in-field event and kiosk applications, the UP-DR150 also offers high-volume roll printing, durable print heads, and a simple front-access design to minimize maintenance. "We continue to accelerate the expansion of the digital photofinishing market and its technologies with the introduction of the UP-DR150," said Jay Dellostretto, vice president for digital photofinishing in Sony Electronics' Broadcast and Business Solutions Company.

With a footprint smaller in size than an 8"x 10" portrait, Sony's new PictureStation DPP-FP30 printer makes it easy to print and share lab-quality photos with or without the use of a personal computer. About the size of a standard paperback the compact FP30 printer will be available in October with an included 40 sheet print pack for about $150. Featuring a lightweight silver colored casing and cleanly styled industrial design (approximately 7" x 5.5" x 2.5"), the DPP-FP30 printer is a dedicated photo printer that uses dye-sublimation technology to produce continuous tone, photo-quality prints. Each photo is sealed with SuperCoat 2 laminate which makes photos super-resistant to spills, moisture and fingerprints.

Dennis Hissink : 2004-03-08 12:11:21
During our visit to the PMA 2004 show in Las Vegas not only digital cameras were introduced but all kind of printers as well. With digital camera sales in the U.S. now outpacing traditional camera sales, Sony Electronics is set to answer the question, "How do I share all these pictures?" with an easy-to-use, PC-free home photo printer. The company's new DPP-EX50 PictureStation printer is a dedicated, at-home photo printer that, like Sony's other printers, uses dye-sublimation technology, to create durable, lab-quality prints. The model also incorporates both Memory Stick PRO and CompactFlash media slots, as well as two USB ports, one in the front for connection to a digital camera or camcorder and one in the back for connection to a PC.
