Sony unveils QUALIA ultra compact digital camera

Achieving a feat in miniaturization, Sony Electronics unveiled the QUALIA 016 digital still camera measuring about the size of an index finger. This highly advanced camera incorporates the smallest available class-AF lens unit available, as well as new technologies like a thin lithium-ion battery and high packaging density to achieve a body size of W 2.7" H 0.94" D 0.66" and weight of a mere two ounces. "The QUALIA 016 is a combination of cutting edge technology, beautiful design and unprecedented form factor. These qualities are indicative of the QUALIA experience which will undoubtedly translate upon initial touch and feel of this camera," said Kenichi (Ken) Sugawara, Sony Electronics' QUALIA U.S. executive vice president.


Sony Japan unveils new Cyber-shot DSC-T11

Thanks to the Japanese site Digitalcamera.jp and DPReview we can bring you the news of a new ultra-compact Cyber-shot digital camera; DSC-T11. Till this moment we are not sure if this model will make its debut on the European and American market, but we would be surprised if it doesn't. The model looks very similar to the DSC-T1, a camera that has been introduced in October 2003. Like this model the DSC-T11 has a Carl-Zeiss Vario-Tessar internal f3.5 - f4.4 optical zoom lens with a focal range of 38-114mm (equiv. to 35mm camera). The DSC-T11 features the new Sony Real Imaging Processor circuit which will stand for fast image processing. The camera is equipped with a 1/2.4-inch Super HAD CCD and offers an effective number of 5.1 Megapixels.


Sony presents new Cyber-shot series during PMA

Consumers will have an easy choice when deciding on a new digital camera this Spring, as Sony brings three ease of use, high picture quality models to market. The latest additions to the Cyber-shot range are the Cyber-shot P43, complemented by the 3x optical zoom Cyber-shot P73 and Cyber-shot P93, all representing a dramatic leap in operational speed and Stamina power efficiency for point-and-shoot digital photography. With a top resolution of 5.1 effective Megapixels, the range takes advantage of Sony's new Real Imaging Processor. This offers more precise, better picture quality results at a higher operation speed and with up to 50% improved power consumption.


Sony unveils slim line Cyber-shot P100

Sony's latest addition to its Cyber-shot range of compact-quality digital still cameras is one of the most compact yet. 18% smaller in volume and 24% slimmer than its predecessors, the Cyber-shot P100 features a new Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with 3x optical zoom, Sony's new powerful Real Imaging Processor, a 5.1 effective Megapixel Super HAD CCD, powered by Stamina InfoLITHIUM battery technology and all packaged in a very stylish streamlined aluminium metal body. In keeping with the slim design of the camera, the Cyber-shot P100 incorporates the innovative Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, specially designed to be flush with the metal camera body when not in use.


PMA introduction of new Sony Cyber-shot W1

Sony has announced the first in a brand new series of quality Cyber-shot cameras that will appeal to the more traditional photographer. Sony's engineers have combined a high quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with a 3x optical zoom in a robust yet compact aluminium metal body. In addition the new Cyber-shot W1 benefits from the latest technology in the form of Sony's powerful Real Imaging Processor and a 5.1 effective Megapixel Super HAD CCD for superior image quality, increased stamina and rapid camera operation. These superb elements are combined with greater creative freedom such as manual exposure control. However, one of the Cyber-shot W1 camera's greatest attributes is the large 2.5-inch LCD.
