Sony announced a new development in recordable DVD media with the introduction of AccuCORE technology, delivering an enhanced level of recording accuracy, compatibility and reliability. Sony's new 16x DVD-R and DVD+R media will mark the first new product introductions to feature AccuCORE, which will also be implemented in the company's 8x recordable DVD products. Consumers recording on discs with AccuCORE technology are expected to appreciate five key benefits: wider compatibility for DVD-R and DVD+R recordings with various types of drives or recorders at various speeds; faster addressing of the DVD-R format in high-speed dubbing and time-shift playback applications;

During our PMA visit Sony introduced a new portable, PC-free solution for burning photos directly from a digital still camera to mini CD-R. This handy and compact storage solution is the Sony Photo Vault Mini CD-R Station. The new product weighs only 226 g and adds convenience and flexibility to digital photography storage. Users can burn images directly from their camera to 8 cm mini CD-R using the Photo Vault device's standard USB interface. Photo Vault also features a built-in photo album capability to display photos on a television screen using a television's standard AV input. Accessories like the Photo Vault Mini CD-R Station are handy for travellers who are willing to pack themselves with a notebook.
