New Kiosk Version 4.0 Software from Kodak

Digital camera adoption has reached mainstream status with millions of European consumers participating in digital photography. While consumers love the digital photography experience, what they really miss are their pictures. Kodak is making it easier for them to print high quality pictures with sharp detail and vibrant colours on their own terms. At retail, Kodak is putting the control in consumers' hands with the newest generation of Kodak Digital Print Kiosks and version 4.0 kiosk software. Version 4.0, a free software upgrade, gives consumers new features and improved functionality. The new software has an increased emphasis on prints from digital sources, such as prints from digital pictures and prints from camera phones.


Microsoft announces Canon's support of MTP

Microsoft Corp. announced that its new Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) will be supported by Canon Inc., a leader in the field of professional and consumer imaging equipment and information systems. Canon, one of the market leaders in adopting and promoting Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP), now plans to incorporate support for MTP into its future digital camera product offerings. This announcement coincides with next week's 2004 Photokina trade show and signifies a premier industry relationship for Microsoft, introducing one of the most advanced technologies yet for image acquisition to a Windows-based PC. Based on the popular PTP, MTP enables the transfer of media such as images to and from a broad range of devices.


DxO Labs introduces DxO Analyzer 2.0 software

DxO Labs introduces DxO Analyzer 2.0 software : DxO Labs announces DxO Analyzer 2.0, a major upgrade of its breakthrough camera quality measurement tool. DxO Analyzer 2.0 will be previewed during the Photokina trade show and will be available mid November 2004. In addition to providing thorough analysis of four critical performance characteristics for any digital camera (e.g. Distortion, Chromatic Aberration, Blur, and Vignetting), DxO Analyzer 2.0 adds several major enhancements: Image noise can be characterized in several ways with descriptive terms such as "intensity", "graininess", or "color differences, but up until now these dimensions have been difficult to quantify.

Photoshop Elements 3.0 software delivers impressive new ways to share, organise and edit photos, allowing people to easily review, compare and enhance photos and create dynamic slideshows and personalised creations. Photoshop Elements 3.0 is the software consumers can use for quick, one-click fixes, in addition to more sophisticated editing techniques when they require more advanced creative control.
