SimpleTech announces SimpleShare - storage device

SimpleTech, a designer, manufacturer and marketer of custom and open-standard memory and storage solutions based on Flash memory, DRAM and hard disk drive technologies, today announced its entry into the network storage market with the introduction of SimpleShare, an easy-to-use, affordable network attached storage (NAS) device. SimpleShare provides network file sharing and central storage over a local area network (LAN) for small office/home office (SOHO) users for less than $500. Ideal for small offices and home offices, SimpleShare allows every user on the network to instantly store and access large amounts of data, such as business documents, digital photos, video and MP3 collections from any computer on the local network.

Today during the so-called "Sneak Peak" held in the Hilton hotel in Las Vegas we have visited the guys from SimpleTech who were announcing the highest capacity CompactFlash card; 8GB Type II. They also announced 2, 4 and 5GB Type I CompactFlash cards and an increase to the write speed of its entire ProX line of CompactFlash cards. SimpleTech's IC Tower stacking technology allows multiple NAND Flash components to be stacked together to provide increased memory and storage densities that provide enhanced capacity in its 5mm type II cards. Delivering a breakthrough write speed of up to 10MB/second, SimpleTech’s ProX CompactFlash cards enable images to be saved faster to the CompactFlash card.
