Canon launches entry-level PIXMA printers

Canon today unveils a bold new look for its new PIXMA range, with the launch of two 4800 x 1200 dpi personal photo/document printers. With 2 picolitre droplet performance from FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology print heads, both printers are capable of producing glossy borderless photo prints direct from contemporary digital still and digital video cameras. The PIXMA iP4000 and PIXMA iP3000 both feature convention-defying designs to match their 2 picolitre photolab quality and respected 25 ppm/22 ppm performance. Fujifilm launches 4 inkjet printers at drupa 2004

Fuji Photo Film announces 4 wide format inkjet printers and papers and a range of colour management software for the European market. There is rapidly growing demand for inkjet technology, especially wide format, in various markets such as photo, graphic arts, screen printing and on-demand printing. In order to meet the needs of these markets, Fujifilm is offering high quality inkjet solutions as a total solutions provider with vast experience. Four Wide format inkjet printers will be launched: Fujifilm/Epson Stylus PRO 4000, 7600, 9600 and 10600, with output widths from 17 inches (432mm) to 44 inches (1,118mm). New version of the Kodak EasyShare printer dock

Presenting an encore to last year's highly successful Kodak EasyShare printer dock introduction, Eastman Kodak Company today announced that its latest model is compatible with multiple brands of digital cameras. The new version, available worldwide beginning this June, incorporates PictBridge technology for connecting to other manufacturers' cameras, an optional external memory card reader, and a dedicated multi-function connector for Kodak EasyShare 600/6000 and 700/7000-series digital cameras. All connection options allow direct 4 x 6-inch thermal picture printing (full size and multiple images per sheet) with or without a computer. With the introduction of this new printer dock EasyShare camera owners will face another handy accessory.

New Sony DPP-EX50 PictureStation printer

During our visit to the PMA 2004 show in Las Vegas not only digital cameras were introduced but all kind of printers as well. With digital camera sales in the U.S. now outpacing traditional camera sales, Sony Electronics is set to answer the question, "How do I share all these pictures?" with an easy-to-use, PC-free home photo printer. The company's new DPP-EX50 PictureStation printer is a dedicated, at-home photo printer that, like Sony's other printers, uses dye-sublimation technology, to create durable, lab-quality prints. The model also incorporates both Memory Stick PRO and CompactFlash media slots, as well as two USB ports, one in the front for connection to a digital camera or camcorder and one in the back for connection to a PC.


Canon launches 13x19 INCH desktop photo printer

Canon's i9900 desktop photo printer empowers consumers, photo enthusiasts and working photographers to make their own professional quality borderless photo prints. The 13 x 19-inch inkjet printer features new red and green ink cartridges for rich, accurate colour rendition, industry leading 4800 x 2400 dpi (resolution may vary based on printer driver setting) maximum colour resolution, microscopic 2 picoliter ink droplets, as well as USB 2.0 Hi-speed and Firewire interfaces. The i9900 desktop photo printer will be available in May for a suggested list price $499.99 (prices subject to change at any time). Hi-Ti introduces large format printers 730PL/730PS

Hi-Touch Imaging Technologies is demonstrating its new large format printer. This new printer will be targeting more home use end-users as well as professional event photographers. Hi-Touch has aggressively introduced their cost per 4"x6" print at a competitive 40¢ per print. A 50-Photopaper pack comes with a ribbon cartridge and 50 sheets of photo paper good for 50 prints carrying a retail price of $20. This compares favourably with other dye-sublimation brands whose costs per print are in the 55-85¢ range. The HiTi 730PS features impressive maximum 6"X8" borderless prints, which is the upgrade of the original outstanding stand-alone HiTi 630PS.


Canon launches the Bubble Jet i80 printer

Canon's CES announcement handles not one of those 20 new digital cameras everyone is talking about but a new all-round desktop photo printer for home, small-office and home office users. This new printer prints photos, text and web pages to scans of images, copies and faxes. It has fast printing speeds with up to 18 pages ppm in black and 12 ppm in colour. This printer delivers high-quality photos by using a print head that incorporates both 5 picoliter nozzles for fast printing speeds and microscopic 2 picoliter nozzles that significantly reduce the size of the dots on the page.
