Panasonic unveils new D-Snap SV-AS30 and SV-AS3

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. today introduced two new D-snap SD video cameras. The SV-AS30 and SV-AS3 can snap still and moving images, play back video and music files, record voice notes and share contents with a wide variety of SD-enabled products, including digital TVs, DVD recorders and printers. The SV-AS30 will be available to the public on October 30 and the SV-AS3 on November 27. The two models function as effective 3.2 megapixel CCD digital cameras, MPEG4 video recorders, AAC/WMA/MP3 music players and voice recorders recording up to 66 hours on a 1GB SD Memory Card. The SV-AS30, super-thin model, incorporates all these features in a compact 53.2 × 103.2 × 9.9 mm (14.0 mm at the lens) casing, the slimmest in the world.

Panasonic is introducing the incoming LUMIX model DMC-FZ20, the world-leading 5-Megapixel CCD model with MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) incorporating a 12x optical zoom (equivalent to 36mm to 432mm on a 35mm film camera) with full-range F2.8 aperture. Panasonic introduces Lumix DMC-FX7 and FX2

Panasonic is introducing the incoming LUMIX models 5.0-megapixel DMC-FX7 and 4.0-megapixel DMC-FX2, incorporating 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 35mm to 105mm on a 35mm film camera) and MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer). The DMC-FX5/FX1, the world's first compact camera with MEGA O.I.S., have been developed thoroughly into the DMC-FX7/FX2. DMC-FX7 has achieved the conspicuous downsizing by approx. 33% ( 94.1 x 50.0 x 24.2 mm ) compared to FX5/FX1, while adopting the 2.5" large LCD monitor. DMC-FX2 is the same in size with 2.0" LCD monitor. Both models have enhanced their excellence not only with the compactness and total number of pixels, but also with a long list of technical improvements like in the image processing LSI.


Panasonic introduces new 5 Megapixel DMC-LC80

Panasonic is introducing new members to the LUMIX series with the 5-Megapixel DMC-LC80 digital still cameras. Equipped with a LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens, the new DMC-LC80 provides beautiful images in superior quality in addition to its stylish design and compact body. Thanks to the established Venus Engine LSI, the DMC-LC80 offers highly responsive operation, with a short release time lag, approx. 0.1 second, between the time when the shutter button is pressed and the image is captured, and a reduced shutter interval time. "Mega Burst Consecutive Shooting" also enables rapid, consecutive shots. The DMC-LC80 has been designed for minimum power consumption, thus the battery life is extended, which allows the shooting of even 320 pictures.


Panasonic introduces new 5 Megapixel DMC-LC1

Back in October 2003 we informed you about the development of a new camera, the DMC-LC1. The DMC-LC1 has a digital brain but the heart and soul of a finely crafted 35mm camera, right down to its controls. A true breakthrough in digital camera craftsmanship, the 5-megapixel DMC-LC1 brings a traditional photographic experience to the digital world, evoking the look, feel, precision, and responsiveness of a 35mm camera. Zoom, focus and aperture are manually controlled by ring settings on the lens; shutter speed is controlled by a dial located on the top of the unit. And, like all of Panasonic’s Lumix models, the DMC-LC1 features a high-performance Leica lens for extraordinary image rendering.


Panasonic unveils Lumix DMC-LC50 and DMC-LC70

During the CES show in Las Vegas Panasonic presented their new Lumix digital camera line for 2004. Among them are two new digital cameras, the DMC-LC50 and DMC-LC70. Compact and lightweight, models DMC-LC50 and DMC-LC70 are great for both the beginner and experienced photographer. The DMC-LC70 boasts a CCD with an effective pixel count of 4 Megapixels, and the DMC-LC50 has an effective pixel count of 3.2 Megapixels. Each offers 3x optical zoom; Panasonic's high-performance Venus Engine LSI; 8-1/2000 seconds shutter speed; MEGA BURST recording; QuickTime motion image recording and many more advanced features. The DMC-LC50 comes with a video cable while the DMC-LC70 includes an A/V cable.
