Nokia introduces mid-range CDMA camera phones

Continuing to expand its range of CDMA2000 1X handsets, Nokia introduced the mid-range Nokia 6235 and Nokia 6235i camera phones for global CDMA markets at the 3G World Congress & Exhibition 2004. The Nokia 6235 and 6235i phones are designed to appeal to a wide range of users with a slim form factor, classic chrome accents and a number of highly desirable features including a 65,536 color screen, VGA camera, streaming video capability and an integrated FM radio. The Nokia 6235 and Nokia 6235i phones are expected to be available in North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific markets beginning in the second quarter of 2005. While they are mid-range products, the Nokia 6235 and Nokia 6235i phones offer a decidedly high-end feature set.

At the annual Nokia Mobility Conference in Monaco and the Destination Nokia event held in Bangkok, Thailand, Nokia announced an expressive addition to the company's widening range of camera phones - the Nokia 3230. Featuring a megapixel camera with video recording and editing, the Nokia 3230 provides modern mobile phone users with an innovative and feature-rich tool for creative communication, sharing and self-expression. Based on the Series 60 platform, the Nokia 3230 is a tri-band camera phone for GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 networks. Shipments are expected to begin during the first quarter of 2005 in Europe and Asia. The unsubsidized retail price excluding taxes is expected to be around EUR350.

At the annual Nokia Mobility Conference and the Destination Nokia event Nokia announced the Nokia 7710 widescreen multimedia smartphone with pen input. With a wide and high-quality touch screen with 65,536 colours, the Nokia 7710 is a pleasure to use for a variety of tasks. The powerful Nokia 7710 includes a full Internet browser, an integrated music player with stereo audio, an extensive set of video features such as playback, streaming and recording, a megapixel camera with 2-x digital zoom and FM radio with Visual Radio client. The Nokia 7710 works on GSM/GPRS/EGPRS 900/1800/1900 networks, with shipments in Asia and China planned to begin in the fourth quarter, 2004 and in Europe and Africa in the first quarter, 2005.

At the annual Nokia Mobility Conference in Monaco and the Destination Nokia event held in Bangkok, Thailand, Nokia broadened its mid-range portfolio with the introduction of the new Nokia 6020 camera phone. With a subtle and practical design, the Nokia 6020 features a broad set of contemporary technologies for personal and business demands. The tri-band Nokia 6020 will be available in two versions: an EGSM 900 GSM 1800/1900 primarily targeted for European and Asian markets, and the GSM 850/ 1800/1900 version for the Americas. Shipments of the Nokia 6020 are expected to start in the first quarter of 2005. The unsubsidized retail price excluding taxes is estimated to be around EUR200.
