New Nikon Telephoto Converter TC-E3PF introduction

Mark Peters : 2004-09-20 02:32:59
Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the introduction of the TC-E3PF - an advanced new 3x telephoto converter born of unique Nikon technology for use with the new 8 Megapixel COOLPIX 8400. Smaller and lighter, the TC-E3PF illustrates how Nikon is taking existing lenses and redesigning them for "on-the-go" convenience. Furthermore, the widely acclaimed TC-E3ED is also compatible with the Coolpix 8400. In conventional telephoto converters, a lens with a pronounced convex shape is used to refract the light received through the first element to a greater degree. This results in the desired reproduction ratio, however chromatic aberration can occur. In the event that a convex ED lens is used, such chromatic aberration is corrected.

Nikon announces AF-S VR Nikkor 200mm f/2G IF-ED

Dennis Hissink : 2004-05-28 08:32:08
Nikon Europe announces the introduction of a revolutionary new SLR photographic lens, the first f/2 aperture lens to feature Vibration Reduction (VR) technology (as of June 2004). The AF-S VR Nikkor 200mm f/2G IF-ED heralds an exciting breakthrough in photographic performance to extend shooting opportunities beyond the limits of currently available photographic lenses. The unique combination of an f/2 maximum aperture combined with Vibration Reduction enables new photographic opportunities in light conditions previously impossible to achieve without resorting to grainy high-speed film or noise-prone digital ISO sensitivity settings. The introduction of today's AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II is a perfect accessory to use with this new lens.

Nikon introduces AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II

Dennis Hissink : 2004-05-28 08:23:44
Nikon Europe announces the introduction of a brand new photographic accessory, the Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II - the first teleconverter to offer a 1.7x lens focal length magnification, but with exposure compensation kept to just 1.5 stops. With dimensions of just 66 x 31.5mm (2.6 x 1.2 in.) and a weight of only 250g (approx.) the AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II is compact and lightweight to use. (Availability might vary by region and/or dealer).

New AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor 18-70mm f3.5-4.5G IF-ED

Dennis Hissink : 2004-01-28 08:00:00
A fourth DX format Nikkor lens is introduced today to join the growing range of lenses designed specifically for Nikon digital SLR cameras, the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm F3.5-4.5G IF-ED. With a practical wide-angle to telephoto zoom range of 18mm to 70mm it offers the analogue 135 format equivalent to 27-105mm for general photography with Nikon D series digital SLRs but attractively priced to enable anyone to start shooting digital SLR photography irrespective of the current camera system they might own. This is the first lens of its class to be offered in DX format, enabling a wide focal length range ratio. It effectively upgrades two existing AF Nikkors, it is smaller, lighter and more versatile than the existing AF 28-105 lens.
