The new Coolpix 8700 is a fully-fledged digital camera with a high resolution of 8 Megapixels which means a jump from 5 to 8million pixels. The compact housing of the new Coolpix 8700 is in fact equal to the housing of the last model, the Coolpix 5700. The Coolpix 8700 is equipped with a top class zoom lens which offers a zoom range of 8x. The CES show in Las Vegas is the right time for Nikon to introduce two new Coolpix digital cameras. The Coolpix series will be extended again with these cameras. The two new models are the successors of the Coolpix 2100 and 3100, two user-friendly, versatile digital cameras from the successful Coolpix assortment. This new duo is designed for the beginning photographer who is taking his or her first steps into digital photography, as well as for the more experienced user who is looking for a compact, easy to operate, but versatile camera. The entry-level model, the Coolpix 2200 has an effective image resolution of 2 Megapixels. The Coolpix 3200 is equipped with an image sensor that offers 3.2 effective Megapixels.
