With the Sharp TM200, T-Mobile Deutschland is now the first European mobile operator to offer a cellphone with an integrated two Megapixel camera and autofocus. The compact multimedia phone has the same picture quality as many modern digital cameras as a result. Close-ups of twinkling Christmas trees come out as pin-sharp as photos of distant winter landscapes or snapshots of exciting scenes on the slopes. The Sharp TM200 is available now in T-Mobiles Online-Shop and end of week in T-Punkt stores and by T-Mobile sales partners and costs ? 149.95 in conjunction with a T-Mobile postpay contract with the Relax 100 tariff. Sharp TM200: autofocus, maximum 8x digital zoom, integrated flash and SD card slot.

ALLTEL offers 1MP camera video phone from Motorola

ALLTEL announced it is now offering the Motorola V710 wireless phone with a 1.2 megapixel camera and flash, video recorder, MP3 player and Bluetooth wireless technology. The phone supports ALLTEL's Axcess Picture Messaging, which allows customers to take, send and receive color photos with voice and text messages, and Axcess Mobile Web 2.0, an enhanced wireless Internet service featuring graphics, pictures and other tools. "The Motorola V710 takes camera phones to the next generation in performance offering customers the ability to shoot quality photos as well as record and play video clips," said Laura Cook, vice president of wireless marketing for ALLTEL.

Continuing to expand its range of CDMA2000 1X handsets, Nokia introduced the mid-range Nokia 6235 and Nokia 6235i camera phones for global CDMA markets at the 3G World Congress & Exhibition 2004. The Nokia 6235 and 6235i phones are designed to appeal to a wide range of users with a slim form factor, classic chrome accents and a number of highly desirable features including a 65,536 color screen, VGA camera, streaming video capability and an integrated FM radio. The Nokia 6235 and Nokia 6235i phones are expected to be available in North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific markets beginning in the second quarter of 2005. While they are mid-range products, the Nokia 6235 and Nokia 6235i phones offer a decidedly high-end feature set.


Fujifilm and Cingular Wireless - Mobile Postcards

Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. and Cingular Wireless introduced a new, first-of-its-kind, photo postcard application for wireless phones called Mobile Postcards(TM). Cingular customers can now use their camera phones to create personalized Fujifilm photo postcards and send them to anyone in the country via U.S. mail directly from their Cingular handset. From standard designs such as travel or baby motifs to special-occasion cards like holidays and birthdays, Cingular customers have a variety of fun themes from which to choose. Cingular customers simply select a postcard design and a photo from their camera phone, add a personal message, address it, and mail it-quickly, simply and wirelessly.

At the annual Nokia Mobility Conference in Monaco and the Destination Nokia event held in Bangkok, Thailand, Nokia announced an expressive addition to the company's widening range of camera phones - the Nokia 3230. Featuring a megapixel camera with video recording and editing, the Nokia 3230 provides modern mobile phone users with an innovative and feature-rich tool for creative communication, sharing and self-expression. Based on the Series 60 platform, the Nokia 3230 is a tri-band camera phone for GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 networks. Shipments are expected to begin during the first quarter of 2005 in Europe and Asia. The unsubsidized retail price excluding taxes is expected to be around EUR350.
