Lexar Media announces JumpGear-MP3

Lexar Media introduced JumpGear-MP3, a unique digital audio player that utilizes Lexar Media's JumpDrive Sport USB flash drive as its storage medium. JumpGear-MP3 is a next generation portable device that increases the functionality of JumpDrive Sport, and capitalizes on the surging popularity of both digital music and USB flash drives. Using JumpDrive Sport as the memory source allows users to upgrade memory to 512MB with a single JumpDrive Sport, or carry several JumpDrives, each with its own collection of music. The USB 2.0 speed of JumpDrive Sport makes downloading large music files fast and easy, and the writable file label on the back of the flash drive allows users to organize multiple music collections with ease.


Lexar Media introduces JumpDrive Traveler

Lexar announced JumpDrive Traveler, a new USB 2.0 flash drive that enables Internet browsing from Internet connected computers without leaving history or session information on the host computer. About the size of a pack of chewing gum, JumpDrive Traveler allows users to access email, bookmarks and other personalized Web settings from PC computers. Additionally, the software provides file synchronization to quickly and easily update files from the USB flash drive to the computer. To enable private and secure Internet browsing, JumpDrive Traveler stores Internet activities, such as URL histories and cookies, onto the USB flash drive, and securely erases them from the hard drive of the host computer when the user exits the program.

PQI Corporation, a leading manufacturer of digital media solutions, announced the release of the 512MB Intelligent Stick™ 2.0, the latest version of its pioneering ultra-small USB flash memory product. Offering a maximum sustained data transfer rate of 7MB per second - as much as five times faster than the 1.1 version - Intelligent Stick 2.0 satisfies the need for pocket-sized, portable flash data storage in capacities currently as high as 512MB, with up to 1GB planned by year’s end. SanDisk introduces Cruzer Micro and MP3 device

SanDisk is making some great and interesting introductions during the CES show in Las Vegas. Among the introductions are the new Cruzer Micro, one of the world's smallest USB 2.0 Hi-speed flash memory storage drives, and the Cruzer Micro MP3 Companion which provides MP3 player functionality when connected with the Cruzer Micro USB flash drive. The Cruzer Micro is very small, with a size roughly equivalent to half a stick of chewing gum. Another great feature of the Cruzer Micro is that it can be upgraded to become an MP3 player simply by sliding it into the Cruzer Micro MP3 Companion. With the Cruzer Micro and Cruzer Micro MP3 Companion, users can carry their important files and favourite songs on their keychain.


SanDisk introduces Cruzer Titanium USB flash drive

During the CES show, Las Vegas Jan 8-11, SanDisk introduces the Cruzer Titanium. This new sleek, stylish and mechanically virtually indestructible (tested to SanDisk specifications by an independent laboratory) portable USB flash storage drive protects the valuable data of business and power users. Cruzer Titanium, a USB 2.0 hi-speed flash drive, is one of the fastest USB type 2.0 flash drives on the market with a write speed rating of 13MB per second and a read speed of 15MB per second. The new flash drive's titanium-coated metal casing is hardened to provide extra protection against the inevitable rough handling encountered in a typical workday. Cruzer Titanium will start shipping to stores this month.


SanDisk expands capacity of Cruzer Mini with 1GB

Today SanDisk introduced a 512MB and 1GB version of the popular Cruzer Mini, an embedded USB 2.0 Hi-speed "key chain" flash drive. With the 1GB Cruzer Mini, consumers can transport up to 30 hours of digitally compressed music, more than 5 hours of MPEG-4 compressed video or more than 1000 high-resolution digital images. The 512MB and 1GB Cruzer Mini drives are part of SanDisk’s most popular family of USB drives including the new Cruzer Titanium, an incredibly rugged and stylish flash drive with a titanium-coated flash drive case, and the new Cruzer Micro, an extremely small form factor that is approximately half the size of Cruzer Mini and expandable with an available MP3 Companion accessory.


SanDisk unveils worlds first 2GB Memory Stick PRO

Today during the CES event in Las Vegas SanDisk has introduced the highest capacity Memory Stick PRO card in the world, the 2GB SanDisk Memory Stick PRO (2 gigabyte). SanDisk also introduced the first Memory Stick PRO Duo cards that it has designed and manufactured. The new SanDisk MS PRO and MS PRO Duo cards are now distinguished by their outer blue plastic shells that represent the standard look across all of SanDisk’s mainstream memory cards. MS PRO Duo cards are roughly half the size of MS PRO and are intended for use in smaller sized digital devices. An adapter is included with every MS PRO Duo and can be used in MS PRO compatible devices. The new Memory Stick PRO and PRO Duo cards have interesting security features.
