New "designer" PIXMA printers from Canon

Dennis Hissink : 2004-07-09 08:00:00
Canon today unveils a bold new look for its new PIXMA range, with the launch of two 4800 x 1200 dpi personal photo/document printers. With 2 picolitre droplet performance from FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology print heads, both printers are capable of producing glossy borderless photo prints direct from contemporary digital still and digital video cameras. The PIXMA iP4000 and PIXMA iP3000 both feature convention-defying designs to match their 2 picolitre photolab quality and respected 25 ppm/22 ppm performance. Radical designs reflect Canon's recognition of the increasing preference amongst customers for products that excel in both aesthetics and functionality.

At just 52mm thick and with a profile area less than the A4 sheets it can print, it is smaller than competing printers. A sleek design and champagne gold finish match its superior performance. Canon introduces new MultiPASS MP390 printer

Mark Peters : 2004-01-07 19:43:41
Canon's CES announcement handles not one of those 20 new digital cameras everyone is talking about but a new all-round desktop photo printer for home, small-office and home office users. This new printer prints photos, text and web pages to scans of images, copies and faxes. It has fast printing speeds with up to 18 pages ppm in black and 12 ppm in colour. This printer delivers high-quality photos by using a print head that incorporates both 5 picoliter nozzles for fast printing speeds and microscopic 2 picoliter nozzles that significantly reduce the size of the dots on the page. Combining the small droplet size and printing at a maximum resolution of up to 4800x1200 colour dpi allows users to create photo prints that rival minilab prints.
