Mark Peters : 2004-04-14 02:06:19
Wacom announced major price reductions on its Cintiq interactive pen displays. Record sales have made it possible to pass on significant savings to its Cintiq customers. Now, more digital artists, designers, and photographers can enjoy the benefits of working with a pen directly on screen. Effective immediately, the Cintiq 18SX will be reduced $1000 to $2499 and the Cintiq 15X will be reduced $400 to $1499. The Cintiq 18SX has an 18.1" SXGA display (1280 x 1024) and the Cintiq 15X has a 15" XGA display (1024 x 768). Both products ship with a custom ICC profile to ensure a high level of color accuracy. ColorVision offer monitor calibration under $100

Dennis Hissink : 2004-04-08 13:31:06
ColorVision and Pantone announced ColorPlus, the newest addition to the PANTONE COLORVISION product line. ColorPlus is an monitor calibration tool for consumers and photo hobbyists that calibrates a monitor to produce stunning photos in a few easy steps. According to Lyra Research of Massachusetts, one in four U.S. households owned a digital camera in 2003. Additionally, 73 billion digital pictures were saved to computer hard drives worldwide in 2003. That figure is expected to grow to 170 billion by 2007. Professionals know that digital devices, including cameras, monitors and printers, reproduce color differently. The most common cause of disappointment with digital photographs, on screen and in print, comes from an uncalibrated monitor.

The Nikon CoolWalker is a stylish storage device that offers an invaluable solution to the organisation of thousands of large resolution image files of all formats produced by today's high-resolution digital cameras. Canon validates digital images with DVK-E2

Dennis Hissink : 2004-01-29 05:00:00
Just some weeks before PMA 2004 in Las Vegas kicks off Canon today releases the DVK-E2. Designed to work with the EOS-1Ds and new EOS-1D Mark II D-SLR cameras, the DVK-E2 provides the facility to prove that images taken with the EOS-1D Mark II have not been altered, tampered with or manipulated in any way. The DVK-E2 is the successor to Canon's DVK-E1 and will work with both the EOS-1Ds and the EOS-1D II. Recent well-publicised cases involving image-tampering by news agencies have identified a strong need for a system capable of verifying the originality of digital photographs. Without such a kit it is impossible for an agency to identify whether or not a given image has been enhanced or manipulated.
