SanDisk unveils new portable Digital Music Players

SanDisk Corporation today introduced the SanDisk Digital Audio Player, a small, portable player that uses embedded flash memory instead of a rotating hard drive and plays for up to 15 continuous hours on a single AAA battery. The new Digital Audio Players combine crystal-clear sound with a sleek design and sport a three-button/one-joystick design and easy-to-navigate user interface. They feature MP3, Windows Media file and Windows Media-based DRM file playback, FM radio and voice recording and can double as a USB data storage device. Because the players have the ability to play Windows Media-based DRM files, they can be used with any of the popular music purchase sites, such as Musicmatch music store.


DIWA Awards ceremonies during Photokina

LetsGoDigital, member and co-founder of the DIWA Awards organisation, was honoured to be part of the DIWA Awards ceremonies during the Photokina 2004. As a representative of the DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association), a world-wide organisation of collaborating websites, together with Kai Thon, Norwegian co-founder and owner of the website DigIT and Eric Kaper, General Manager of the DIWA Awards we handed over several Awards to a number of key players in the Digital Imaging industry. During the press day of the Photokina, we have issued a DIWA Gold and two DIWA Silver Awards to Canon Europe. The Canon PowerShot Pro 1 was awarded with a gold medal, in recognition of its overall qualities, performance and value.


Olympus showed new concept m:robe during Kina

We were able to have a closer look at a new concept Olympus introduced. The official specifications are still not unveiled, but will be unveiled later in October. This concept is interesting and has some promising features. Music and images are such an important part of memory. Out of nowhere a piece of music can set the pulse racing with vivid memories of life's most potent moments, while a picture can paint a 1000 words. By combining the two the Olympus m:robe allows you to capture and remember events in an evocative manner. The m:robe is a digital camera, image viewer and a music player all in one, so it's easy to combine personal pictures with the tunes that make the difference between a picture and a memory.


SanDisk unveils new Digital Photo TV Player

SanDisk today introduced the SanDisk Photo Album, a compact, sleek and easy-to-use device that lets consumers display digital still pictures or video clips on their TV sets and even attach soundtracks to slide shows. Using any one of eight flash memory card formats as well as portable USB flash drives, the unit also enables consumers to play MP3 music files on their home audio systems. The media player was launched at a SanDisk press conference during the Photokina 2004 imaging trade show, where the company is exhibiting products in Hall 1.2, Aisle A, Booth 059 of the Photokina. The SanDisk Photo Album (SPA) allows consumers to bypass their computers entirely when storing, organizing and viewing images from a digital camera.


Dual DIWA Awards to Nikon: D70 and COOLPIX 8700

DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association), a world-wide organisation of collaborating digital imaging websites, today announced that two Nikon digital cameras have been awarded for outstanding test results. On all accounts, the Nikon D70 satisfied the DIWA testing experts, who honoured its overall performance with a DIWA Gold medal in the category of digital system cameras. Also another high-quality Nikon digital camera, the compact megazoom model COOLPIX 8700, has passed the rigorous DIWA tests with excellent results, qualifying for a DIWA Silver medal. The Nikon D70 took the D-SLR market to new heights by introducing exceptional features and qualities at a very reasonable price.
