Canon U.S.A., Inc. today announces the i70 Color Bubble Jet Printer, the next generation portable printer with desktop performance. The i70, which replaces the award-winning and class-leading BJC-85, will benefit from the latest Canon Bubble Jet technology such as fast printing speeds, up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi, Bubble Jet Direct printing from select Canon digital cameras and digital video camcorders, true borderless printing and advanced MicroFine Droplet Technology. The i70 will have an MSRP of $299.99 and will be shipping in February 2003. Major features on the i70 fall into three categories - Quality, Speed, and Bubble Jet Direct printing.


Epson introduces the Epson Stylus Photo 900

Epson America Inc. is introducing the first photo printer under $200 that has the capability to print directly onto CDs and DVDs without adhesive labels. The EPSON Stylus Photo 900 is the second printer in the line to include the technology for printing directly onto ink-jet printable CDs and DVDs. Lexmark unveils 2003 inkjet line

Lexmark International, Inc. today introduced the most comprehensive inkjet line in its history, featuring three new inkjet series to meet the growing range of consumer printing needs. The line offers two photo printers, including the industry’s first sub-$100 photo printer with on-board camera card readers, as well as a feature-rich, easy-to-use entry inkjet printer for novice users. Lexmark also unveiled three newly designed All-In-One inkjets – the PrinTrio X1150, X6150, and X6170 – in a separate release today. The introduction of this robust line of inkjets continues Lexmark’s legacy of print quality excellence with a maximum 4800 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution on photo paper available across the entire product line.


Hi-Touch announces new faster 640PS Photo Printer

CA Hi-Touch Imaging Technologies announces the addition of its new and faster 640PS Photo Printer to the HiTi family. The 640PS is the deluxe version of the already popular 630PS model and will feature stand-alone, direct printing of lab-quality photos at an increased 403dpi (equivalent to inkjet 6400dpi). To keep current with digital photography trends, the 640PS will accept six different media types (Compact Flash, Smart-Media, Secure Digital, Memory Stick, Multi-Media Card, and Micro-Drive) directly on the built-in card reader. The new machine's cost per print average continues to be significantly less than the costs of inkjet printing and even more affordable than other dye-sublimation printing solutions.


Samsung enters photo inkjet printer market

Samsung Electronics announced a new high-resolution inkjet printer. The new MJC-2250c is an affordable high-resolution printer with fast printing, small footprint, and simple operation. The maximum output resolution of 4800dpi X 1200dpi (5.76 MP) is currently the highest possible for inkjet models, and printing in color can be as fast as 8 pages per minute. A comprehensive graphic user interface allows the user full control over printer functions via a control window. The head alignment, which usually requires a constant attention, is fully automated for clean, hassle-free results. The paper type is automatically detected, too. Finally, built-in support for an USB 2.0 connection enables faster transfer of documents from computers.


HP UK launches world's smallest flatbed All-in-One

HP today announces the world’s smallest consumer flatbed All-in-One, the HP PSC 1205 printer, scanner and copier. Priced at only £99, the stylishly designed HP PSC 1205 offers the creative home user photo quality colour printing, superb flatbed scanning and fast, standalone copying, at an affordable price. “HP is continuing to lead the highly competitive All-in-One market by introducing our trade mark no compromise products at lower price points,” said James Guion, HP UK All-in-One category manager. “This is intended not only to reinforce HP’s commitment to this fast growing market, but to ensure the highest quality All-in-One products are readily available to the mainstream market.”


HP Expands Personal Printing Solutions

The products include thicker, glossier and heavier HP Premium Plus Photo paper, an expanded paper line and four new HP Deskjet printers. "As the industry leader, HP is committed to providing customers with the broadest portfolio of digital imaging printing systems available at affordable prices," said Russ Radom, general manager of North America supplies, HP Imaging and Printing Group. "HP's technological innovation allows us to deliver digital photography systems that provide superior output quality and exceptional fade resistance to consumers."
