During our CeBIT 2003 report we brought you the news from Pretec to bring a huge high-capacity storage card on the market. After this announcement we were told that the initial shipping price would be around $7999. Some days later SanDisk introduced their 4GB type I CompactFlash card with a stunning price tag of $1000. There will be no discussion which product will be more realistic, what a price difference! Yesterday we got information from Pretec that the 6GB CF type II card will be available by the end of this year. The price has been changed into $7499, a little bit of a disappointment. To make things more exciting, Pretec is planning to demonstrate a 12GB CF type II card late next year. I am curious.. what price tag will this baby get?
