Nikon introduce D1X Power Kit

Dennis Hissink : 2003-07-20 16:44:09
Nikon have announced improvements to the top of the range D1X digital SLR.
The improvements include an enlarged buffer capacity that will virtually eliminate ?buffer stall’, where the buffer becomes full and the camera must wait a few seconds to resume taking pictures. The increased capacity allows continuous shooting up to 21 frames in JPG or TIFF format and 14 frames in NEF format. The increased buffer capacity has, up until now, been available as a RAM upgrade to existing product, demonstrating the flexibility of digital. However, this did mean that the photographer had to send his camera into Nikon service depots in order to take advantage of the upgrade.

Second Vibration Reduction lens for Nikon range

Dennis Hissink : 2003-07-20 16:38:36
Nikon have announced a new Vibration Reduction (VR) lens, the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED – a range only available from Nikon. In addition to the VR system which minimises blur caused by camera shake, this new optic incorporates advanced features such as SWM for quiet operation and is even smaller than its predecessor, the AF Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6D IF. The AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6 IF-ED was developed in response to the demands from mid- and higher-range SLR users for a more affordable, highly portable high-power VR zoom lens. The new lens offers 5x high-power zoom capability and wideangle coverage from 24mm.

New Prosumer Coolpix 5400 camera from Nikon

Dennis Hissink : 2003-07-20 16:33:02
The announcement of the Coolpix 5400 strengthens Nikon's prosumer digital range and consolidates Nikon's position as one of the top three brands in the 5mp sector. Its 4x zoom lens gives a focal length of 28-116mm (35mm equivalent), covering a broad range of photographic situations from landscapes to interiors, family groups to individual portraits. The lens construction is 9 elements in 4 groups, comprising an Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass element to guarantee sharpness and colour correction by minimising chromatic aberration, plus two aspherical elements to virtually eliminate problems of coma and distortion - even when used at the widest aperture.
