Dennis Hissink : 2003-07-16 23:12:45
Today Canon introduces its new 5 Megapixel Powershot member of their successful range of G1, G2 and G3 cameras. The new PowerShot G5 is, surprise, equipped with a 5 Megapixel resolution and it looks remarkably the same as the Powershot G3 camera that was introduced last year. Last month we had the opportunity to take a quick glance at this new model and as far as we can see it has the same body as the PowerShot G3, but this time only in a black finish. The new PowerShot G5 has a nice bright f2.0 (wide) lens, a total of 4x optical zoom, and offers a wide range of functions for the serious amateur and professional photographer.

Without any pre-information about this trio Kodak suddenly announces three new digital cameras. The new EasyShare DX6440 camera is the most advanced of the three new ones. It is equipped with a 4 Megapixel resolution CCD and a 4x optical Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon lens. New details are also an exclusive high-speed and low-light precision AF system and a new Kodak Color Science image processing algorithm. The second announcement is the EasyShare CX6330. This camera has a 3.1 Megapixel resolution and a 3x optical zoom lens. There are no specific new details on this one; it looks like an entry-level digital camera within the range of EasyShare cameras. The last one is the entry-level and price breaking EasyShare CX6200.
