During the PMA 2003 event and later on during the Photokina event Sigma caused quite a sensation with the final end-product, the Sigma SD-9. But now Sigma unveils their second DSLR camera, the Sigma SD10. Again this new digital SLR model features a Foveon X3 image sensor. This sensor can capture all RGB colours at each and every pixel. The design of the Foveon X3 sensor features three layers of pixel sensors.

Sony brings world's smallest 5MP camera - DSC-T1

Dennis Hissink : 2003-10-22 14:35:00
Inspired by Casio and Minolta? Who knows, but at first sight it seems Sony has taken the best ingredients from the ultra slim cameras and added their wish list and 'Sony" specialties to them resulting into the world's smallest 5 Megapixel camera. The new DSC-T1 has a special design and features a Carl-Zeiss Vario-Tessar internal optical zoom lens. Internal optical zoom lens you said? Yes, by designing a special lens construction (like we have seen before with the DiMAGE X series) Sony was able to create a very slim body. The internal optical zoom lens has the advantage of a much quicker start-up time and a "full-proof" lens protection. Beside the internal 3x optical Carl-Zeiss zoom lens the DSC-T1 features a 5.1 Megapixel CCD.

Kyocera Japan introduces Finecam L30 camera

Dennis Hissink : 2003-10-18 17:51:08
The introduction was first noticed by the guys from Digicamezine who reported this introduction yesterday. Kyocera pops up another digital compact camera. At this moment we don't have information whether this model will also make it to the European and American market. A few weeks ago Kyocera Japan introduced a rather colourful Finecam SL300R. This model is more fashionable than the one we are talking about right now. The new Finecam L30 has the look of an ordinary 3 Megapixel camera, a design that is not that special. When we are looking at the specifications we see the standard 3x optical zoom, the 3 Megapixel resolutions CCD, Secure Digital/MultiMedia support, etc. The new feature of this model is the MPEG4 recording.
