 Sony Alpha 900 photo gallery : After attending the press event in Edinburgh where Sony introduced their long-awaited Alpha flagship I had some time to enter the highlands and shoot with the new Sony Alpha 900 camera. The new Sony DSLR-A900 24.6 Megapixel DSLR camera is the first full format high resolution model of Sony’s Alpha line-up. The Sony A900 sets a new benchmark, not only because it features the industry’s first ever 24.6 effective megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, but the Sony A900 forces also a price breakthrough. In the Netherlands Sony will tag its flagship with a price of Euro 2999 for the body, and that is including VAT. As soon as a test sample is available we will publish a full Sony Alpha 900 review.

Sony Alpha 900
The creative potential of the 24.6 megapixel full-frame sensor, the new advanced dual BIONZ processors handle large amounts of image data at high speed. Noise reduction algorithms are applied prior to RAW data conversion and then again during image processing, yielding flawless, detail packed images with a minimum of noise. The dual BIONZ processors also underpin the camera’s shooting responses, allowing sustained 5fps continuous shooting at full 24.6 megapixel resolution.
Sony Alpha test drive
At the time of my test drive with the Sony A900 camera, I combined the body with a 85 mm f/1.4 ZA Carl Zeiss Planar T* lens. This lens is ideal for high quality portraits, close-ups and handheld low-light shooting. The 85 mm f/1.4 Carl Zeiss lens delivers high image quality and offers excellent resolution and high contrast. Unfortunately the new 16-35mm F2.8 ZA SSM Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* zoom lens was not available during my Sony Alpha 900 experience, but I hope to get this interesting combination as soon as possible.
Sony A900 photo gallery
The photo location is the highlands of Scotland and surroundings of Edinburg. The Sony A900 test photos have been reduced to enable correct reproduction and compressed to ensure a faster loading time. The large pictures (to be downloaded) are the original, unedited Sony Alpha 900 sample photos. As soon as we receive a final production model we will publish a full DIWA standardized Sony DSLR-A900 review.
