Leica Summarit-M lens design
“Leica Summarit-M lenses are the culmination of what can be achieved with an excellent mastery of classic spherical lens design, the latest optical glass types, top-quality metallic materials, sophisticated stray light absorption techniques and the ultra high precision manufacturing and adjustment techniques for which Germany is famous,” says Kornelius Müller, Commercialization Director at Leica Camera AG. “These optical principles have been applied for nearly a hundred years to photograph the world’s most famous star portraits. The photographers’ hands instinctively feel the mechanical precision of Summarit lenses, their eyes immediately recognize the high quality finish - and the results confirm the performance.“

Leica Summarit-M lenses - Focal lengths
Leica Summarit-M lenses are available in four focal lengths, 35 mm, 50 mm, 75 mm and 90 mm, covering the classic ranges for most applications such as photographs of people, whether individuals, couples, groups, as a portrait, wedding photo, street scene, whether taken from the perspective of a person at the scene or that of a distant observer.

Multi-coated and light Leica Summarit-M lenses
Using Leica Summarit-M lenses, Leica quality can also be achieved for situations requiring extremely compact and lightweight equipment, or when the cost of equipment is limited due to risk reasons, for example. They replace older or less complex lenses that cannot hold their own with the modern, multi-coated, stray light-reduced Summarit in terms of imaging quality or mechanical precision and reliability. Each Summarit-M comes with a metal front cap, a lens hood cap and a velours pouch for storage.
