SonySony DCR-HC62 : Sony introduces a mini DV Handycam with feature sets that provide great value for the investment. The new Sony HC62 camcorder integrates a 25x optical Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens and a 1 Megapixel CCD imager provides excellent video, as well as 1 Megapixel digital still photos. For easy framing and viewing of footage, the Sony DCR-HC62 is equipped with a 2.7-inch wide (16:9) LCD touch panel screen. It has a Memory Stick PRO Duo media for easy management of photos, as well as a USB port for transferring video to a compatible PC and other devices. The Sony HC62 includes a helpful, on-screen usage guide that explains the menu functions, Super SteadyShot image stabilization for smoother video, and color viewfinders.

“The new Sony HC62 camcorder is a perfect for families who are either looking to buy their first camcorder or are currently using a mini DV camcorder and enjoy video editing with tape,” said Kelly Davis, director of camcorder marketing at Sony Electronics. The addition of the Sony HC62 miniDV camcorder model brings Sony’s standard-definition mini DV line in 2008 up to three models, including the prosumer DCR-VX2100 camcorder.

The new Sony DCR-HC62 digital camcorder will be available at retail in February for about $300 and $250, respectively. The Sony HC62 can be purchased with a full array of accessories online at the Sony Style website and at Sony Style retail stores, at authorized dealers nationwide, and at military base exchanges.
